Last year during one of the anti-terror trials, they were keeping a "reluctant" witness locked up in Woodhill. Meant every day he was giving evidence there was a prison van with five car escort (two cars sandwiching the truck were four-up and armed, the other three were traffic) going out of MK am and back pm(different route to the M1 each day).
spooky you saying this, we saw them again today on the M1 heading towards 14

Woodhill and Belmarsh are (iirc) the only two places in the country that have facilities for both convicted/suspected terrorists to be held in isolation, and for "secure" handling/protection of witnesses. Belmarsh has the advantage of being nearer to central London but the disadvantage of being staked out by the press 24/7. Woodhill has the advantage of being relatively unknown in this role, but the travel to London is a disadvantge (although there are many ways to get from MK to London which helps security)
