......... could this be another "Al Melling" dream??? The phone number is relevant to his area!!
Nah - Melling would want to design an engine himself. This one appears to have a Nelson Racing Engines turbocharged big-block Yank V8. Plenty of YouTube videos of Nelson Racing Engines product... some of the motors have mental outputs and I don't doubt the ability of the engine to provide the requisite power. Getting that power down though - well the Veyron has 4 wheel drive and loads of electronic aids... check out the YouTube video of the Nelson Racing Engines 1000 bhp car, it has a yank 3-speed auto IIRC and drag rear tyres, but still spins the wheels up in 3rd when the turbos come on boost.

This thing's going to be undrivable.

To be fair, I think this one is well past the pipe-dream stage. At least it does actually exist in the metal/carbon and has had some serious development time and money invested. IIRC the TKR testing was done at Nardo. Good on them I say. And it's British.

Thats a great looking car and the Veyrons a pig. Please people with the cash buy them to make the company a success.
Great looking car? It looks like a late nineties self build abomination.....and will no doubt handle like one...can almost hear the squeaks, rattles and bangs just looking at it.

If the Veyron is 'just a car', then this is a rollerboot.

It's a Saleen S7 with the front end mushed about a bit and 3 feet lopped off the rear!

The ripoff is shameless,it has the same nose intake design, the same shape bonnet, the same scoop on bonnet and roof, the same "gills" slats on the rear intake...

It was at the Goodwood festival of speed last year, think i can remember the sales guy saying there was 3 models then, the most expensive having 1000bhp or something crazy like that!

You really think it will do 150mph in just over 10 secs? i doubt it! That is what the Veyron does it in.

also anyone can get 1000+bhp from an engine. Christ if I had the money I could turn the monaro into a 1000bhp bd (Wonder how close HarryOz is with his TT LS7 conversion)

But the difference would be drivability, it seems the veyron can pootle around town then get you to the south of France without much effort. Thats the true benchmark to beat not just the outright power
i think Jeff Schwartz over on the Ultima forum is getting close to 1K out of his TT LS engines (I think they are LS7 based).

I'm sure you could get it out of even an LS1 (obviously with some internal fettling too!). The question is, in comparrison, just how drivable are they? How reliable (time wise)
