Although if you use this: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/historic-inflation-ca... then £22,400 in 1983 comes out as £58,240, so not too bad...

Now that's the bit that caught my eye!

You'd never get a big car like that with a LSD these days.

A good shed, i was looking at this only yesterday. My dad had a 728i in red this shape back in the day, it was a C reg, it was a great car.

Had a really rubbery spoiler on the back.

Getting rare these days.

Yes, looks like a universally popular shed this one, can see why, immaculate by the looks of it or as near as you are going to get, the lowering looks ok but agree that on something so close to original it should be at the standard height, oh and it has never aquired chrome arch trims or aqn Irish 99 quid private registration as most old Mercs and BMW seem to along with an air of Yardie/Gangster/bloke trying to look wealthy on a budget.

Be careful though, these love a drink !

I say someone should go for it and waft round in a permanent cigar smoking 80's captain of industry fantasy in a Peter Bowles/Richard DeVere stylee.

Depends on how you drive really.

I returned 27mpg in my E32 730i in my cross alpine hoon, over 1,500 miles, very suprising.

admittedly its a later model with a slightly smaller engine but it did get some stick up the alpine passes and on the french auto routes.

27 is good for one of those, this is a half litre bigger and generally they arent as good as when new, not that they were that great then, it is possible to get them into single figures, 3 speed box, not that aerodynamic, I reckon mid teens knocking about, twenty on a run.

I had one of these, a 728 manual with an LSD. Best car I've had by miles. Regret selling it every day.

Rare car, rare colour? there out of place for an add for battered old tank, seems an expensive potential money pit to me. £400 tops.

My Dad had one, an SE, A638SCP in Titanium Silver with blue velour seats (should have gone for leather, Dad!).

I drove it several times when my parents were out, just after I passed my test. I was a a bad kid and wouldn't have been insured. It was a great car and started my admiration for BMW.
