Who will come out on top at Ferrari?
Discussion
Its an interesting proposition that's for sure. I like them both but if I was a betting man it would be Alonso. He knows the team and car (ok cars all new but there must be some small carry over). He's got arguably the best drive/relentless will to win in the paddock. He can carry a poor car to a good result (has Kimi been flattered at Lotus?). Great tactical mind. More than quick enough on his day.
Really can't wait to see them go head to head.

I don't buy the 'Kimi doesn't give a st' line. You don't get to be WDC and be hired by Ferrari twice in one lifetime with that attitude. It's just how he comes across in public. I'm absolutely certain he takes the driving and racing very seriously.
I think qualifying is possibly the weakest part of both their games. Both were outqualified several times last season by supposedly weaker teammates, but both outraced their teammates in the majority of races, often from lower grid slots. I think it will be very close between them.

Kimi has a lot of natural speed but that will not help when he has to manage fuel and the energy recovery systems. I get the impression that Alonso puts in the homework and will study/analyse the data to get the best out of the car whereas Kimi just gets in and drives the wheels off it.

He does take his driving and racing seriously, he doesn't give a toss though about all of the politics and mind games.garycat said:

Really? He has been one of the best drivers at managing tyres over the last two years. I can't see why he would have any issue having to manage fuel as well. If anything Alonso's driving style is more energetic/aggressive and he will have to adapt more than the likes of Kimi or Button. Having said that, I really hope this year doesn't turn into an 'engine & fuel management' series.

Either Alonso, or there are going to be toys thrown all over the place.
And don't forget freddys propensity even if favoured to claim the opposite whenever a teammate gets some results over him...then again, he may have matured since the wild days of renault/mclaren... we forget these are young men out there

Kimi will just keep his head down and out point Alonso. Alonso needs to work on his qualifying, if he wants to be ahead at the end of the year, But cant see either one winning the WDC.
neither can i but i think they will win ferrari the constructors titleGassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
