Wasn't exactly a thriller that one! Still another good result for Mercedes and I remain amazed at how Red Bull are performing given the events of winter testing.
Wasn't too bad - rosberg coming back through the field was interesting enough , and had 20 quid on bottas top 6 so i enjoyed watching him close up even if tbe bloody director decided i had to watch it on tbe app not on TV!Most baffling has to be mclaren - so strong race 1, terrible now. Not acceptable with their resources.

Nico looks gutted and well pissed, he must of thought after OZ that this championship was his only for Lewis to be showing him the way, i predict it won't be long before Nico starts questioning the team when it'll appear they favour Lewis
I can't see how he can start questioning the team when he isn't quick enough to challenge. Its not like he's being held back by team orders etc.I think its pretty clear that the Merc boys are free to race, when Nico can get out the front and stay there for a few races he can start thinking about calling the shots, but as it is there is no point.

I hope Nico doesn't lose the mental battle with himself. His composure and level-headedness always seemed to be one of his strongest assets, and it's not like we're at the tail end of the season yet. He's still got plenty of time, and is still top of the pops.
He's a smart guy and must have been difficult relaying all the data back to the team. He won't ever **** anything up, this will be a lot closer end of the season than most people thinkcidered77 said:

Might wipe the stupid smug grin off Ron Dennis' face though. Begun to really dislike Mclaren since he came back... particularly as he was so keen to take any credit for the minor success in the first race or two................... what ever happened to that 1 second they were going to find? cidered77 said:
Martin Brundle is such a class act - second only to ricciardo as F1's most popular man? kimmi's star fading after all....
An elder statesman of the sport, he'd be a great person to have a chat with over a pint or two, Damon & Johnny too.Brundle said back when Toyota started up he got offered a job as sporting director but turned it down. I wonder if he'll look to do something like that when he's had enough of the TV. Either way I don't think you'll drag him away from F1 until you put him in a box.

Yep, Brundle showing how it should be done; he's a terrific F1 broadcaster.
Nico has some homework to do, superb drives by Alonso and Ricciardo. Seb must be licking his wounds.
Another great one liner today: "red bull so slow down the straights they're having trouble getting by themselves" Nico has some homework to do, superb drives by Alonso and Ricciardo. Seb must be licking his wounds.

Agreed Stu R.His composure at the post race interview today indicate that "Has Lewis 'broken' Nico" mullarkey is mainly in the minds of the wishful thinkers. He had to work harder than Lewis Hamilton who when all considered, had a nice comfy solo run out in the car on a Sunday .... Good eh. Mercs still 1-2 though. Team and all win which is the main thing ... for the team.
That along with some here writing Vettel's four WDCs off after a whole four races under the new Formula is very amusing further evidence of wishful thinking by some F1 enthusiasts ...
Bit of a let down action wise today after the last race. No surprise there.

on the other hand, in the less transparently public pre-podium room. nico was extremely terse with the mercedes team manger, basically just grunting in reply to "good job today especially with your problems" and "very strong pace at the end"... so, perhaps not.His composure at the post race interview today indicate that "Has Lewis 'broken' Nico" mullarkey is mainly in the minds of the wishful thinkers.
