if montezemolo had visited today. domenicali would still have his job.
Given how quickly they brought the new guy in, I would imagine it was already a done deal.

He may have fallen on his sword, but Luca will have positioned it for him.

Watched the race on fast forward - didn't expect to be a good one. High tyre deg and fuel saving wasn't going to lend itself to entertaining racing. Good to see Vettel getting beat again by DR - I wonder if RB have started to think why they are paying him so much - a true champion will be able to turn this around, so lets see what Vettel can do.

Was there anything to watch in the pre and post F1 shows or should i stay with BTCC ?
I didn't hear anything about fuel saving, nor massively high tyre deg, that impacted on the racing...

It wasn't the same barnstormer as Bahrain, but it was entertaining to watch Ricciardo close down on vettel and there were good battles throughout. Unless I watched a different race of course.

FYI - China is one of the highest wear tracks.
They are always fuel saving - nature of F1 these days.
All because they're not saying it - doesn't mean they're not doing it.

In the ideal world to get good full out racing during an F1 race you need a long safety car period. That allows the cars to run flat out for the remainder, full fuel and no concerns about the tyres given out too quickly.

just read this:

Because someone waved a chequered flag at Lewis Hamilton on the wrong lap, the results in Shanghai have to be changed. According to the FIA’s Article 43.2 of the Sporting Regulations, “should for any reason the end-of-race signal be given before the leading car completes the scheduled number of laps, or the prescribed time has been completed, the race will be deemed to have finished when the leading car last crossed the line before the signal was given”. This means that Kamui Kobayashi’s last-minute overtake on Jules Bianchi does not count, the race having been declared at 54 laps.
Blimey. Back in Mosely's day that would have been reason to relieve Hamilton of his victory. Wilfully and wrongfully passing chequered flag, or some such biggrin.

Just like the Sprint Cup race at Bristol when a marshal managed to accidentally press the caution button, prompting the flag marshal to throw the flag and end the race a couple of laps early!

I checked the F1 website early this morning and the stated start time was 15.00. I'm sure I had the F1 site set for UK times, but obviously not. mad

To be honest, there were some right cockups by the flag marshalls right through the race, they seemed to be waving blue flags at anyone who looked like they were racing at one point.

It's not the first time at the Chinese GP either, more training sessions required...

Just watched the highlights. Very enjoyable.

The Merc is unbeatable.
Hamilton is better than Rosberg.
Alonso is the class of the field.
McLaren is the new Williams.
Williams is the new Keystone Kops.
Vettel is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
Grosjean ought to be in the second Merc.

Must agree with all of this. Gutted for McLaren really; they seem to be falling and falling and I don't know if Honda will fix anything...

I'd agree with that, these tyres just don't seem to suit Kimi.
I guess they make him look like a Michelin man biggrin

I'm impressed, yet again, by Hulkenberg. He's in a so-so car, he's nearly 20kg heavier than his team-mate, and he's picking up good points yet again. If you look at points scored versus the budgets, Force India are doing really well, and Hulk disproportionately so - twice as many points as Perez.

I'm a massive Kimi fan and even I am starting to agree with that. The Kimster is really struggling, it could be a dip but equally it could be a sign he is now a little past his prime? I mean the back end of last year he didn't look so hot against Grosjean either.

It does make you wonder what Alonso or Hamilton could have achieved in that Lotus over the last 2 years.

I noticed that too, at the start there was someone waving a yellow flag which was presumably why Hamilton slowed right down (apologies if this has already been talked about, only just finished watching the race).
