I'm sure Martin Brindle; this weekend, said that he was one of the nicest and approachable drivers in the paddock; when out of the car.
Sadly Sky don't broadcast F1 in Swiss-German so I don't have the pleasure of Brundle and co anymore. What I've heard suggests not, but there are a few drivers whose media/public personality is very different to the one the team and others see. Did you hear the stat yesterday?
Maldonado has taken part in 80 races in 5 seasons with Williams and Lotus. How many races has he scored points in?
8. Unbelievable! Bruno Senna scored more times (10) in one season as his team mate. Maldonado scored 5 of his points scoring finished that year.

Lotus blamed Pastor for the retirement today, reckon he could have grabbed P7.
It will come to a point that they can attract enough revenue that they can look elsewhere for a driver.
Thing is it generally isn't just his car but the damage to the other cars he hits, sometimes costing them millions in points too..It will come to a point that they can attract enough revenue that they can look elsewhere for a driver.
On the subject of him finishing in the points only eight times in his career (less than 10% of the races he has contested) he hasn't finished better than 9th since November 2012 and the only time he has finished in the points more than once in a season was in 2012. By way of comparison his teammates managed the following:
2011 Barichello 2 points finishes (PM 1)
2012 Senna 10 points finishes (PM 5)
2013 Bottas 1 points finish (PM 1)
2014 Grosjean 2 points finishes (PM 1)
So it appears other than 2012 he's never really been in car capable of decent results, he managed three points finishes while his teammates got five.
However, given his fists of ham, and apparent car development skills of a gibbon is there actually an issue that the teams suffer as a result of having a driver who can't give them the feedback they need to develop the car?

You know he had problems driving into the pits this year in China. I had forgotten he did the same thing last year but with the gravel and tyre barrier stopping him - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF7B6oTbwnQ
Senna's commentary "I think what he should have done is just go straight". Yep like he did this year
Mouldy - "I crash"
Pits "Oh, Ok"
