I'm sure I'm not the first person to wonder whether Ferrari's sights will be set on Daniel Ricciardo in the future, right?
That would be hilarious. For the smiley man to mosey on into the other smiley mans garage and take a great big piss in his chips.

Vettel seems like a nice guy, except when he's prone to chucking his toys out. Being a sadistic fker I'd love to see Ricciardo join Ferrari.

He really doesn't appear to give a toss and so should go.

Personally, I'd love to see Hulkenberg get the Ferrari seat!

If he wasn't such a prick towards the media then this wouldn't happen. I'm sure the knuckle scrapers will lap it up but if he wants the media to write things that make sense then the ball is in his court.
bks. The media write nonsense about drivers and contracts all the time. I mean we have only just had months of speculation about Hamilton draw to a close. Before that it was Alonso and Button. They always need some drama to write about and are often short on facts......

Pretty much every driver on the grid had been linked with Raikkonen's seat these last 2 years.... I mean wasn't Lewis supposed to be going to Ferrari at one stage this year, if you believe the reporting... laugh

Talking to a tame hack recently, it would appear that Kimi won't be at Ferrari next year. The smart money seems to be on Bottas and knowing the machinations of F1, I'd bet he's already signed something to that effect.

As mentioned by someone else early on in the thread - I think Kimi could find a 'good home' in World Rallycross, would love to see him try it.

I'd like to see Jenson at Ferrari for a couple of seasons, hopefully if its competitive he can finish off his great f1 career on a high.

So, not the Ferrari
2nd fastest car this season so far?

Bet he's delighted he didn't go to the WEC with Nissan, they've built the only race car slower than McLaren this year.

I'd like to see JB with Webber and Hulkenburg in a Porsche LMP1 car. With those 3 the same car.

Kimi wants to win. He doesn't seem too bothered if he comes second or third.

The car spun him at that hairpin at Montreal like it did last year? Kimi said it on the radio and one of the pundits said 'Yeah, it did'.

So Canada was unusually poor for a GP and Kimi's chances were blown by 'the K' deciding to butt in half way around a corner like it did last year?

And he's just got a car that better suits his needs with regard to steering and then the Green regenerative stuff intrudes unannounced?

I'm sure 'the K' in Kimi's car wasn't triggered when Bernie's pet cat nudged the remote control.

I'm not sure you can blame him. He can see how far ahead Mercedes are and the chances of being competitive with them next year don't look that great.

F1 is a bit Mickey Mouse at the moment.

The last time he was in a rally car he was pretty rubbish - but I'm sure it was because the car wasn't good enough, nothing to do with him.

A pundit has said for Rallying you need to learn routes and work with the codriver on the notes and Kimi just wants to drive fast. He doubtless has the driving skills, it's whether he can be bothered to learn and develop the other skills you need in rallying beside driving fast.

I hope he doesn't go at the end of this year. I still (perhaps optimistically) believe he has a great season left in him yet, given the right car. I see Kimi a bit like Button these days; he perhaps lacks the ultimate pace he once had but nevertheless brings a lot to the team in experience and is still a handy racer. I think he deserves a crack at 2016 when (again, perhaps optimistically) Ferrari will be truly competitive. Also from Ferrari's perspective Vettel & Raikkonen seem like a strong and balanced combination, it is really hard to see who would do a better all around job without stepping on Seb's toes and upsetting the team dynamic.

To my mind it makes sense that he would a renewal and then leave at the end of 2016 to make way for someone younger; with Bottas being the likely choice at the moment. I think Hulkenberg has missed his chance, Ricciardo is tied in with RB (and I think hell would freeze over before Seb allowed that move anyway). By the end of 2016 it could be musical chairs if Rosberg's contract is for renewal, or Fernando has an opt out or if Mclaren are making strides.

Will be sad to see him go. The time does seem right as I can see the car improving that much over the next year.
Sorry to bring up your post of July 2014, but it wasn't to shame you. (Please don't trawl through my predictions.) I read it at the time and I agreed with it 100%. Now the Ferrari is taking the challenge to Merc. It's not there yet, and probably won't be this season (don't bookmark that comment), but the improvements have probably cost Kimi his place. All of a sudden the team think they might be good.

So, Olivero, I don't know if it is any comfort to you to suggest that it was received wisdom at the time and no one contradicted you, or that I was behind you.

I'll be sad to see him go as well.

On the positive side, there are more opportunities for fast drivers to earn a decent crust outside F1 nowadays.

I can see Kimi leaving Ferrari at the end of the 2015 season.I think they will replace him with Bottas or Ricciardo but would like to see the Hulk in the car.

It looks like Alonso is tied to a 3 year deal at McLaren but as Honda have turned the engine down to the level of Australia for reliability but still having mega problems with the power train going pop I would like to see Jenson jump ship if he could get a deal somewhere else ldeally Ferrari but cannot see that happening but Willians,Force India or even Lotus will be better than McLaren in 2016.

Probably nothing. Kimi tended to be quick on the short stages which he could remember from memory. Pace notes were not his strong point. So driving a rallycar on a circuit would suit him. Short intense 6 lap races is right up his street, WorldRX could have been made for him.
I can't see him in the WEC; far too demanding, he'd get bored during a long stint.
