Good race, although left disgusted with no safety car regarding Sutils incident.
Would of been a massive threat to Rosbergs lead if there was..... ummmm
Normally I wouldn't sign up to any conspiracy theory, but it did seem a little convenient. Would of been a massive threat to Rosbergs lead if there was..... ummmm
Having said that, doesn't Charlie Whiting have the final say in every race? You'd think that would give some consistency.
That decision was *very* inconsistent though.

People have such short memories. Last season they made the tyres they were asked to make - ones that went off quickly. Because people said that tyres that could last a whole race were boring.
No pleasing some people.
Sorry but that's just not the case i don't remember a single fan actually say tyres that lasted were crap i seem to remember that when michelin and bridgestone we're both together in a tire wall that was the last of the problems. No pleasing some people.
The reason we had little overtaking was because the cars were 100 percent reliant on aerodynamic grip where is this year they have more power than aero, nothing to do with tyres.

Too many safety cars. Massa's first corner accident did't need one - double yellows waved throughout the start finish complex would have been perfectly sufficient.
I don't deny that we have the Safety Car out for the most seemingly-trivial reasons. So I'm not for one moment wishing a SC out. But given the kind of things that usually bring out the SC, I simply can't understand why it didn't come out for that incident. JonRB said:

Perhaps some people think graining = crap tyres? That certainly usually isn't the case. Graining has occured for many decades. No pleasing some people.
The surface gets too hot and bits of rubber roll across the surface because the tyres are sliding too much.

Massa incident ended up off track in the run off area, near a marshal post with recovery nearby, not in the middle of the main straight.
It looked like a certain safety car at first (especially considering past itchy trigger syndrome on the SC button), but it was off the racing line, in a spot where cars don't normally venture. After one lap, all the drivers will have known the car was there. I wonder if the marshalling post directly opposite on the wrong side of the track had to wait for permission to cross - it was surprising that none were organised enough to get there from the pit side.Ultimately the car was safely removed. Had it been stuck in gear, it would have been a different matter.

Maybe this will mean that the SC won't be deployed at the drop of a hat in future races too. We can but hope.
They were slagged off last race so today they over compensated. Some consistency would be a miracle. Leithen said:
