Good race, although left disgusted with no safety car regarding Sutils incident.
Would of been a massive threat to Rosbergs lead if there was..... ummmm scratchchin
Normally I wouldn't sign up to any conspiracy theory, but it did seem a little convenient.

Having said that, doesn't Charlie Whiting have the final say in every race? You'd think that would give some consistency.

That decision was *very* inconsistent though.

Well now that was some wheel to wheel (and closer) racing there.

Kai Ebel? His shirts have been gracing every gp for the last thirty years or so.

Rosberg is a lucky boy not to have had the safety car out after Sutil's Nelson Piquet Jr impersonation.

People have such short memories. Last season they made the tyres they were asked to make - ones that went off quickly. Because people said that tyres that could last a whole race were boring.

No pleasing some people.
Sorry but that's just not the case i don't remember a single fan actually say tyres that lasted were crap i seem to remember that when michelin and bridgestone we're both together in a tire wall that was the last of the problems.

The reason we had little overtaking was because the cars were 100 percent reliant on aerodynamic grip where is this year they have more power than aero, nothing to do with tyres.

Take the emotions away from your favourite drivers and that is still a safety car IMO, at no point should marshals have been made to run across the track at that point so close to the last corner.

Too many safety cars. Massa's first corner accident did't need one - double yellows waved throughout the start finish complex would have been perfectly sufficient.

Massa incident ended up off track in the run off area, near a marshal post with recovery nearby, not in the middle of the main straight.

I don't deny that we have the Safety Car out for the most seemingly-trivial reasons. So I'm not for one moment wishing a SC out. But given the kind of things that usually bring out the SC, I simply can't understand why it didn't come out for that incident.

Perhaps some people think graining = crap tyres? That certainly usually isn't the case. Graining has occured for many decades.

The surface gets too hot and bits of rubber roll across the surface because the tyres are sliding too much.

Should develop tyres that will last the entire race, and have one of these races every so often.
How about none of the tyres being marked so that you never know how long they will last??

It looked like a certain safety car at first (especially considering past itchy trigger syndrome on the SC button), but it was off the racing line, in a spot where cars don't normally venture. After one lap, all the drivers will have known the car was there. I wonder if the marshalling post directly opposite on the wrong side of the track had to wait for permission to cross - it was surprising that none were organised enough to get there from the pit side.

Ultimately the car was safely removed. Had it been stuck in gear, it would have been a different matter.

Maybe this will mean that the SC won't be deployed at the drop of a hat in future races too. We can but hope.

They were slagged off last race so today they over compensated. Some consistency would be a miracle.

They didn't overcompensate. It was fine. Stop the nannying.

I think that was my point as our posts crossed, did it really justify a safety car for Massa's as it was easier to recover? The fact marshals had to cross a live track for Sutils car close to the exit of the final corner to me warranted the release of the safety car. Did those marshals get back across to man the post they left to retrieve the car? They should have, but they wasn't going to cross back again was they potentially leaving a marshal post short staffed.
