I now think you think motor racing is only entertaining with crashes and worst.
You're accusing Derek of only liking Motorsport when people are hurt and killed? Good form Johnnyboy. Can you spot the difference?
"Accusing" you accuse.
OK .. I can play the I think, you think game. Can you spot the difference? Maybe not ...

No I'm not, just thinking it as a possibility howsoever remote on a "I think, you think" basis.

The question mark at the end on my post was meant as a start to a discussion. There's a difference there you might have missed. Can you spot the difference?

There's much to balance between taking a calculated risk and being reckless. Whether LH's decisions are 'right' or not is not something we can be definitive on as we do not know what he was trying to do, but that shouldn't stop us discussion it. A bald statement is pointless on a discussion forum unless it is meant to be open to challenge.
From memory, LH was stuck behind Ric's RB for four or five laps at the start, possibly from lap 8 to 12 (it's more or less right). He was having major problems in getting on terms with the RB as it had the benefits of DRS and (I seem to remember) there were still a few cars in front of Ric after the Ferrari. So when Ric made his move, LH had a decision to make: sit behind the RB for another lap or two or go for a double overtake.
Did one of the commentators suggest that another inch before braking would have put LH out of the race? That can show either reckless abandon or trust in his own abilities.
Now a more circumspect driver, or one less sure of his abilities, could have stayed back and be stuck behind the Ferrari and the RB until they pitted. But then, would we have bothered watching that driver?

Or, neither of the above, simply a pure luck outcome based on his own abilities or reckless abandon.Hamilton has been known to get it wrong resulting in a DNF once or twice when going for gaps or dealing with other situations which I have never found entertaining.
OK, I lied about once or twice. It's a far higher self-inflicted judgement based on abilities score.
Just how I see these things. Could be wrong on all counts. ...
Radio5Live sports extra right now :~
Jenny Gow ref Hamilton's "Brembo Brake Failure" question to Brake specialist spokesman Ricardo.
"I'm not in a position to answer that now".
A wise man ...

You spout you usual biased view and than fall back behind that?
If I were to hypothesise that it's possible that you dislike Hamilton because of skin pigmentation would I be playing the game correctly? If so then it's a crap game. Say what you mean clearly and debate some actual points.

One thing which my wife mentioned and I missed (which is made more bearable by everyone else missing it on here) is that LH (she's a big fan) was on strange and newly fitted brakes, and they were, it would appear, ones he did not like. So, according to my wife, the outbraking was hardly a factor against his ability, rather it showed his ability to adapt, quickly and all but perfectly. Now a more circumspect driver, or one less sure of his abilities, could have stayed back and be stuck behind the Ferrari and the RB until they pitted. But then, would we have bothered watching that driver?
Further, although this from me, wasn't there an all but identical incident, at the same corner, which included a collision in which Kimi's front wing was damaged even more, a little while later. And wasn't the impact even more severe, given the greater damage. (No question marks as rhetorical.)
Yet we hear nothing about the dreadful driving of whomever it was who caused that (one of the RBs?) yet he must have had the same idea: if the opportunity arises, then go for it. The quick and the dead last.
And did Blundell say something like how the incident showed the high skills levels of the three drivers involved?
Except in that case, there was no overtake.
Well done LH. New brakes you didn't like, just fitted to the car so no way to assess, and yet he still showed the way to do it to another top line driver, perhaps even a WDC (can't remember the details of the incident although two Ferraris sandwiching an RB is what my memory tell me happened).
