He said "a top car" not "the top car", inferring one of several, not the #1.
I can recall LH qualifying last at the start of one year. He must be really st if it was a top car.

Sooo refreshing coming in after a mega ride to see the last ten minutes of 'highlights' rather than the whole event. Hamilton is a baby, he needs a bit of a wake up call IMO. But then this is F1, nothing serious wink The days of racing have long since flown.

you openly admit u think lewis is 'such an unpleasant character', which is quite a strong statement to make on a forum designed to be discussing the finer aspects of F1
then you go on about him not adhering to orders, and how he should just do it because hes an employee..
i find that abit disturbing

i cant say i think any of the drivers are of an unpleasant character. i cant know that unless i know them personally or on a social level (and even then i dont think i would express that opinion on a forum). Its very inappropriate to make such remarks, and undermines the remainder of your argument

Firstly Lewis has NOT been in a top car since his arrival into f1. Those that think he has must be 12 years old.

Secondly, I'm really hoping Lewis wins the wc this season, afew members heads will explode on this forum

2009? When he finished 5th overall and the team finished 3rd? Yes, a top 3 car.

If 2009 is your reference, I think it was a gearbox change that incurred the rear quarter start?

He has. 2007' for a start. A top car. Race winning multiple times. Runner up by 1 point. Not the winning car, but how is that not A top car?

Does it matter?

Look. The fact is Lewis is a very flawed jumped up young man. He;s a very fast driver but he is just like Button uesd tp be. It's not 'emotion' it's petulance. Senna, Prost, Schumacher all had their moments but what set them apart was they didn't bemoan the team. Lewis IS a bit of brat, he has all the money in the world but has forgotten the most basic things.

He'll get there I'm certain but this year, no.

His argument was already rendered useless but yes that does underline the babble somewhat. I also find it odd...

In any case, this has all descended into the usual Lewis debate and it's been done a million times before.

Great race. Great driving. What's not to love!

Eh? Prost didn't bemoan his team? Ferrari sacked him for bemoaning the team. He publicly criticised Honda and deeply embarrassed them. He was a political animal.

This thread is a new low on PH imo.

May, or may not. If he works himself up to 3rd and ROS gets DNF he goes into the break one point ahead by my reckoning. We'll know this time tomorrow. smile
Top 5 only possible if there are lots of retirements in front of him or everyone jumps out of his way, Marussia/Caterham etc might but STR/Force India won't and then you are up to RBR, Ferrari, Williams.

This is not Hockenheim, its a difficult track to pass at. Graeme Lowdon described it as "Monaco without the buildings" on Friday.

Top 10 will be a decent result for Lewis tomorrow.
Well, I've been out all day and only just looking at this. The usual tripe but I know what, I should have put a bet on Hamilton for 3rd place. biglaugh

Presumably you've been following F1 for about 20 minutes, "Senna, Prost, Schumacher all had their moments"? Senna was ruthless and didn't think twice about taking his team mate off, Prost wasn't above using politics against his team mate (and in consequence his own team), think Japan '89 and as for Schumy and team orders, I wouldn't go there if I were you.

Moments my arse.

Not really; check the last few years of comments about Vettel / Massa / Grosjean / Alonso / Maldonado and so on. It's only different because people for some reason get very sensitive about Hamilton; it's very odd.

Well I just watched the BBC highlights and what a cracking race! Awesome job by Ricciardo, must be getting embarrassing for Vettel by now.

I'm not going to trawl back through last 40 pages of Hamilton bashing, but having just watched the BBC interviews, it was Hamilton who came across as content, humble, and professional. Rosberg had a face like a slapped arse and obviously couldn't wait to get back to the team hq to whinge about Lewis not letting him past mid race.

I think Lewis' comment was spot on. If he had let Nico through when the team asked, Nico would have beaten him to the end. A race is a race, if they split the strategies then the faster car at any given time should be able to make the pass on their teammate without external assistance, especially with the artificial overtaking systems in place (DRS).

Just my 2c.

Did my eyes deceive me or was there more water on one side of the track on the run up to and into turn 1 right after the start? Based on the visible water and spray from tyres.

Vettel went backwards from grid slot 2 after what appeared to be a reasonable start for him and soon found himself behind a Williams and a Ferrari.

Then was able to get past the Ferrari not long after.

Puzzled a bit by that after seeing it all again.

Whatever you say.

I was lucky enough to watch Senna is his prime. Lewis is weak, he puts it out there and make it obvious how to get under his skin. We shouldn't mention Senna. Prost and Shumacher in the same breath really. Lewis IS quick but so flawed. Senna moved from Brazil and lived the lowlife before actually retiring in 1981.

Lewis Hamilton has been funded by Mclaren for 'x' years and now has more money than he can ever spend. He can afford to be how is is, however this will not win him a Championship. Let's talk about consistency, how does Lewis stack up? Put a solid team mate against him and he crumbles.
