After looking at the visualization, I am thinking if Mercedes have changed their strategy for Lewis to 3 stops
then he had a better chance to win than Roseberg.Because Lewis was almost 3 seconds ahead of him before Roseberg's 3rd pit stop and if Lewis had the super soft tyre then he could have easily cut Alonso and Ricciardo (may be).

What you think?

I think people need to get over this crap and accept that for once, a big team has 2 even drivers with no clear No.1!

It may be crap or insecurity while working with a German team. But these things make Formula1 interesting smile

No they don't. Good racing makes F1 interesting, not tabloid rubbish about who likes who and so on! If you like gossip, may I recommend the Daily Mail, or Bella magazine!

This is a German team whose car is designed and built in a factory about 15 minutes to the west of Silverstone, and whose engine is designed and built about 20 minutes to the north?

No.

There's a hundred variables, but if the race itself between them showed track position can be more important than time in Hungary, oh ad Lewis beat Nico, starting from the pit and spinning on lap 1 - you can argue as much as you like who's the better driver - but Lewis isn't THAT much better than Nico.

Who knows. It's possible.

But this weekend has shown Lewis has a great ally in the form of Niki Lauda. I think if Lewis takes the WDC he'll have a lot to thank Niki for.

Is the Formula 1 sub-forum going to be full of conspiracy theories for the whole summer break?

I think this is very true - In fact just look at Niki's face when he talks about Lewis, there is almost some type of Fatherly admiration/pride going on.

Whils I do not believe M favour either I was wondering myself yesterday that had LH pitted when NR was looking for an easy pass he may well have had more of a challenge for the win but, as said above, it's all about track position and that was definitive.

if Mercedes did put options onto Lewis when he pitted on L40, Lewis would have had the advantage of brand new tyres compared to Rosberg who's options would of been 7 laps old & nowhere that Rosberg would of made the ground up to be within 1 seconds. For some reason they seem to be more thinking about Rosberg winning the race, rather than looking at the reality that Lewis was now the lead car because of the twist & turns of the race. And like I said previously they knew Lewis was going to jump Rosberg before he pitted on L40 because they told Rosberg. Saying this one more time if they gave Lewis the options & best/same strategy as Ricchiardo & Rosberg, Lewis would of came 1st or 2nd. because Ricchiardo pitted on L54, If they gave Lewis options could brought him in on L55/or leave him out there if Lewis felt tyres would make it, as the lead car he should have had the option, because they brought Rosberg in on L56. Mercedes messed up & their team leaders made bad decisions, it seems to favor Rosberg, As Lauda says Lewis did the right thing.

Personally, I think the team jsut made a mistake opting for two strategies. THey were hedging the team's bets - and it didn't pay off.

Presumably you are unaware of the saying

"He who pays the Piper, calls the tune"

It applies in every other aspect of life, so why not F1?

The teams are investing something like £50mil/year to compete in the sport and as far as the teams are concerned they're mainly after the constructors championship as that's where the money is. Doesn't seem particularly likely that they'd cripple one of their drivers so the other can win the WDC.
