Guys I normally hang around that Aston part of the forum, but looks like the boring buggers aren't going this weekend.

I am camping near Stavelot at the F1 Camping site, on my tod, so anyone staying there?

Hi Horts

I saw you at F1 Camping..What a mess !!!

Did you get your Aston Martin out OK ?

My car was horrible in the mud, so got the car out on Sunday morning after a struggle, and left straight after the race. Got to Calais and booked a room for the night and went in search of a place to pressure wash the car off.smile

Shame about the rain. The final storm put paid to any hope of most getting out of the field. I think that field is now ruined. My only complaint of F1 camping was to many young people running the site. Not able to put plain B into motion. The guy with the RR Discovery was well out his depth if you ask me. When I asked what he was going to do, to help us people he just starred at the ground. Some alloy road slates like they use at Silvertone and Goodwood when its wet should have been the plan of action But he hadn't covered himself in case of the eventual rains....he just didn't care or was worried.

I will not be camping with F1 camping again.

Horts, were you in the traffic up the hill to Spa? I was in a black V8 Vantage behind you for a while?

We were in the Le Combes campsite - no rain Sunday or Monday (we left about 10am). It was very muddy on Saturday though.

We were in the green site, was shocking. They need to do something really. We needed to go to a local supermarket on the sat, we got out just, but couldn't make it back in. My mate was gutted, as he keeps his car mint, it was mullered by the end. Luckily it didn't rain Sunday, and as we stayed until mon am, we did manage to drive out without being towed. It helped that most people had left, so we didn't have to use the tracks that were bogs.

Yep, that was me in a very muddy Aston, having navigated my way out of a mud bath of a camp site!

Nice V8 BTW!

Yes thanks, I got it out on Sat morning and left it out on the road, I can't say I was impressed with my camping experience, either, next time think I will book mealier and get a hotel in Stavelot!

Jesus, didn't realise someone nearly hot the P&J, good job I didn't see it!

Yes that site was a bloody mess and I think the organisers could have done more to assist drivers. I should have stayed till Monday but left Sunday night and headed back to blighty after a pitstop in Calais.

Yes I agree to all.

No one can help the rain we had...However,

I got my car out on the Sunday morning after lots of effort got some help from other guys and in the end managed to get out by reversing the car ( rear wheel drive) out and onto the hard track across the camping site. No help from the F1 camping, they were no where to be seen. Drove to the circuit for the race, and found a local CP site with a hard standing in the Spa Village for 10 euros. If I go again it will be B&B and go back to that car park. Drove straight to Calais after the race, got there about 8ish and booked into a reasonable Hotel in Calais . On the Monday morning found a hand car wash place and removed the bit of Belgium from my car.

I hate my car being dirty.mad

I have had the car totally valeted now underneath as well, when I looked underneath it looked like a tractor.
