Chilton out, Rossi in at Marussia
Discussion
He didn't set the world on fire, granted, but for a team short of cash he didn't ever smash the car to pieces and you could argue he is only 2 points behind the much lauded Bianchi. Granted those are a very important two points that arguably Max wouldn't have got but you can't help but feel that for such a team the instruction is 'circulate without crashing out and we will hope for some big event that allows us into the points' while we build experience and generally 'get better'.
Certainly I remember the Minardis / Fortis - not setting off at the green light but preferring to give it a few seconds and then tiptoe round the first lap so as to avoid any mayhem to ensure TV coverage for the whole race while bringing the car home. If Max had a similar instruction he has filled the brief.

.....if he did, then they must not have said the same to Bianch; at least he's tried to race other cars on occasion. Tried too hard at times.
I don't believe that any Aon money was behind Max this year ;he has sold shares in himself to a number of investors. Chily has already put his hand in his pocket for both sons over the past couple of years though.
I assume that Ferrari contribute more though. Apparently the Russian owners also invested more money in the team over the winter though.

I can see Haas buying Marussia, which is a shame, as I'd hoped for an extra team, not an acquisition.
Regarding Chilton, he's teamed with a potential top level driver who Ferrari are investing in. To be deserving of a top drive, Chilton needs to beat Bianchi. That's unlikely, but I hope Max stays in F1.
If not, it would be good to see the Chilton brothers pair up in LMP again. They were quick together in 2007 at the Silverstone 1000kms when Max was about the same age as his Verstappen namesake.

Rossi did a terrific job
Never driven the car before. Limited Sim work and not for Spa and within 1.5secs of Bianchi
Of course 1.5 secs is a lifetime away but with no time in the car that's respectable.
Max was 1.3 secs away from Bianchi in FP2 which is also a lifetime away and considering amount of time that he has on the Sim and in the car is an utter embarrassment.
