Nor me - always thought circa 200 mph was the limit.
I always remember 220mph being peak, 230 was a surprise.

Just checked - unofficial straightline max is 413 km/h (257 mph) with a BAR007. FIA ratified record is 400 km/h (249 mph) but the car would not have passed scruitineering as it had a rudder for stability.

But interesting to see just how fast an F1 car could go with the peak 3l engines, albeit in slightly artificial scenarios - no bends wink

FP3 on BBC2 now.

Ferrari (unsurprisingly really) have played their Joker and will use different gear ratios. I guess they are trying their absolute maximum to get on the podium.

Kvyat is on his 6th engine, so will take a 10 place grid penalty tomorrow.

Heads up. FP-3 currently running on BBC 2. Beautiful sunny day at Monza.

Qualifying on BBC 1 from 12:10. I expect it to be close for Q3 and not just the two Mercs.

There do seem to be some surprises at the sharp end over the two previous FP sessions...

Gene Haas talking about having a in season base in Europe and the main base in Charlotte.
That's not going to work particularly well.

Base location is everything. Toyota have admitted that they should be taken the old Arrows factory rather than extend their Rally operations in Cologne as they we never able to attract the right people or retain the right people for long enough.

When did Hamilton drive into Rosberg? Did I miss something this season?

Toto Wolff just interviewed mentioned the drivers 'driving into eachother'. But I don't recall Lewis driving into Nico this season at all.

Toto? Why would he be disingenuous?

Yes probably being disingenuous but if he's referring to anything in particular it could be Bahrain or Hungary - Hamilton drove "into" Rosberg, Rosberg avoided.

What again? Did Toto make this statement before? I must have missed that one.

My query was why he would refer to both drivers driving into eachother when that hasn't happened.

Jordan seems to think he's interviewing himself.
