Shame they have got rid of most of the gravel trap at Parabolica.
Makes me wonder when was the last time any mods improved a circuit?
Only ever a nod towards safety. I'm struggling think of one improvement for the drivers, or fans.

Is safety not an improvement for drivers and fans?

Of course it is. I think you know what I mean.

Now there is no penalty for running off, so the banzai young hot shots will now be able to find the limits, by exceeding the limits and then reigning it in. Less skilful IMO than edging up to the limit without stepping over it.

Likewise over ambitious overtaking attempts that no one in their right mind would try if their wasn't such an easy, cost free (in terms of lap time) safety net.

They should have kept 5 meters next to the track so their is a penalty for overstepping the track limits.

A quick google brought up an article from 2006 where the drivers wanted the gravel replaced by tarmac. So it seems they have been banging on about it for quite a while now.

Unsurprising since it benefits his inability to steer around a corner without hitting anything.

I'm banking on Merc hobbling NR car in quali so he and Lewis start far apart (to avoid hitting each other) but knowing they have the grunt to finish 1 & 2, whosoever behind will be given access to turn the engine up to 11 until they catch up then both will peg their lead and cruise to the flag.

If the weather stays as it is looks like it will be a wet race . Terrible weather in Italy at the minute.

Nah, it won't be wet, they said that last year and it wasn't.
We came out this morning (Tue) and the weather is glorious, local forecast is hot with some cloud for Milan, possible thunderstorm for Como. So I guess there is a very outside chance

As for the race I will just say I hope Hamilton wins.
Is that the leaning tower of Monza, Pisa's younger and lesser known relative?

Possibly that or the effect on the camera as objects around me close in as I approached the speed of light. laugh

Will Juan-Pablo Montoya's record highest average speed lap of 262.242kmh / 162.9mph set in 2004 be broken?

Think McLaren will be quick this weekend.

Not sure they will be. Red Bull in low down force looked quick at Spa. I'd put Mercedes, Williams and RB ahead of Mclaren right now.
