F1 Drivers weight - scary thin!
Discussion
Some people just seem to be built light. I'm 1.71m and weigh in at 55kg but wouldn't say I was too thin. Slim but not underweight looking. See Vettel at Singapore last year looked very healthy and like he'd been working out a lot but still probably weighing in at only 60kg.
I remember a friend of mine telling me about his brother who was a national level swimmer. His BMI classed him as just into clinically obese. But he had the classic Superman physique.

Because there is no FIA drugs testing policy of note.

So the FIA drugs test, what’s Webber’s problem? The failing he highlights is the testing programme is pretty lightweight. Below are the competitions regulated by the FIA where they conducted drug testing.
FIA Formula One World Championship
FIA World Touring Car Championship
FIA GT1 World Championship
FIA World Rally Championship,
FIA GT3 European Championship,
FIA Formula 2 Championship,
FIA Formula 3 International Trophy
FIA European Rally Championship,
FIA Middle East Rally Championship,
FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship,
FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies,
FIA International Hill-Climb Challenge,
FIA European Championship for Autocross Drivers
FIA European Championship for Rallycross Drivers,
FIA European Drag Racing Championship,
FIA Alternative Energies Cup,
CIK-FIA U18 World Karting Championship,

Wow, I guess you think – that’s some testing programme! Well the number of testing days performed in 2011 by the FIA in total was 22. They tested across all those series a total of 79 drivers – about 3-4 each day.
So there are 16 competitions and say 20 drivers in each = no less than 320 drivers, and probably a lot more.
Say 14 races per championship… 320 x 14 = 4,480 driver days of racing and the FIA tested 79 drivers which is a sample of less than 2%.
If you cant see how a racing driver can gain an advantage from taking performance enhancing drugs that are banned from other sports you are either burying your head in the sand or have lived a very sheltered life. Clenbuterol to lose weight, tramadol for pain relief, amphetamines for that red mist feeling.... sure its unlikely to be high numbers but as athletics and cycling have found, the more you test, the more you catch.FIA Formula One World Championship
