Rosberg calls Hamilton lucky before podium ceremony

And while it was a 'separate' reason, I don't think anyone thinks the loss of ers retardation was not the reason for the brake problems experienced.
One question, did they not have temp and wear sensors on the rear brakes ? I can't understand why his engineers weren't shouting at him to watch his rear brakes.

What possible reason has he got for lying ?
I don't think there was anything sinister in his response. If memory serves me correct he'd just come off the pit wall was asked to comment and gave a response. He'd not even been to the garage. Still, bottom line is if the same issue were to happen again and all things remained the same, it would still be Hamilton who has the failure first. Anyone with a bit of tech & racing nous can see as much.

They were, Lewis decided to run in Nico's slipstream anyway and cooked the brakes. If he'd dropped back he probably would have finished the race.Lewis said:
We knew as a team that we had some issues some part through the second stint, but we thought it would be okay to manage it and that's why we were going at the pace we were going. I jumped him in the stop and I was thinking 'Wow! Finally! What a great feeling', but then straight away on that lap the brakes failed. There was nothing I could do.

can you point me to your source, as i can't find it in the radio transcripts? ...afaiaa neither were warned re: brakes, they were warned about their MGU-K (software) issues ...Nico was then warned about his brakes, once Lewis had gone off

Care to explain ? Managing the brand image is paramount for all merc team management. It's the only reason Merc are in it. Does not seem to be very successful in this case.
Also, so it appears the engineers did not warn Nico and lewis about the rear brakes until Lewis's had failed ?
