yes

You don't have to be a Lewis Hamilton fan to appreciate that performance. You just have to be a motor-racing fan.

By any measure, Hamilton put on a display of controlled, aggressive driving on a tough track. Of course he was in the best car, but we can't take away the fact that the car needed to be driven with centimeter-perfect accuracy and aggression at maximum attack, in order to create a window to squeeze in that final pit stop. He didn't put a wheel wrong. It was a great drive under pressure.

Mobs don't work like that. They now believe he's an acceptable target. And people love to pick on a target when they believe it's acceptable.
Cowards only work in packs too.

Pathetic.

Monza surprised me with the booing. Singapore doesn't - it's full of Brits and Aussies at the GP. I'll bet we don't hear a single boo at the japanese GP - why do you think that is?

Rosberg just needs to prove himself without luck being on his side if he wants to gain respect.

If he wins the championship due to double points it will only get worse for him, but that's Ecclestone's fault.
Would you take the same view if Hamilton wins via the double points rule? Or Ricciardo?
Just asking.

Whilst at the same time, using less fuel than the rest of the field.

In this months Motor Sport, Mark Hughes gives some very interesting and telling insight to what makes him as good as he is.

Enjoyable race I thought but I'm disappointed that Williams aren't doing better.

it's Lewis and Bottas that are consistently using less fuel then the others (particularly their team mates)

Because the Japanese fans are extremely polite?

Williams don't have a car for all circuits. This being one of them. Give them something with higher speeds and they'll be up the front again.

yes

The rest of the field are edging closer in terms of qualifying pace, but Mercedes showed how fast that car's race pace is when they *really* uncorked it yesterday...

yikes

Indeed. Impressive.

He knew what he had to do and did so without fuss. He's improved no end of late. I wonder if it is the different management - and I say this as a McLaren fan.

Any difference in radio communications? Seems like lots of info is being relayed. I thought there was a ban in effect or partial ban.

"As predicted, the FIA's ban, half ban, on radio communications was made a joke today with all sorts of messages being sent back and forth from all teams. More confusion. " - Axis of Oversteer

FIA and their rulings looking stupid.

Bottas points finish vanished by two-stop strategy even as Ferrari's podium finish missed by unwanted pit-stop. I think they can copy the same way of Lewis Hamilton (Super soft, Super soft, Super soft, Soft).

If there was no team radio at all Hamilton would have come in earlier towards the end of the race. Would that have made a better race? Probably.

That blog could do well to cite some examples. Without examples it just sounds like axe-grinding or complaining for the sake of it.

Funny that when FA went into the pits during the safety car the pundits were all in agreement that this was a masterstroke and that LH might be lucky to finish second. In retrospect, it wasn't a genius move at all; FA was waiting for the RB tyres to fall apart, which just didn't happen, and LH, as we saw, had a shedload of performance to spare.

Red Bull and Mercedes made a perfect strategy, tracks temperature dropped gradually, soft tyre can't perform well... Ferrari spoiled their a best opportunity, they are use third stint Super-soft only 6 laps.

Interestingly his dad has been around at the races a lot more lately, I wonder how much that's helped him? He seems more susceptible to emotional stuff than some others which seems to have been an issue at times, at others maybe it's helped him move on quickly.

For me the interesting non-racing point next is how Nico deals with this blow - if it phases him or not.

Partly yes, but mainly because the crowd won't be full of boozed up Brits and their copycat colonial cousins.

I just think it's all a bit childish.

Did anyone boo Fangio when he was taking Moss's car to win races?
