Ron said something in his usual cryptic style to Brundle in an interview on Sky on Saturday along the lines of 'maybe there's four in the frame' as Brundle was talking about Button, Magnusson and Alonso.
What if McLaren field a second team next year. Perhaps buying out Caterham or Marrusia. Honda would surely benefit from more engine mileage/testing/running over the year and spread the cost.
This would explain the delay in announcing their plans which should be nothing more than signing a driver, maybe there is much more to it.

I did not think teams were allowed a "B-team" - though I would prefer it to third cars if the IP sharing was controlled.What if McLaren field a second team next year. I doubt McLaren have the money, the main team haven't had a sponsor in how long ? automotive are making profit, but its a long way from propping up the F1 team.What if McLaren field a second team next year. Also, entries for 2015 are done (had to be in by Nov 1st), there is no extra team.

Since this appears to be the unofficial silly season thread these days, I've a question;
Merc have got 2 lead drivers and the WRC.
Ferrari have got 2 lead ex-WDC drivers although I suspect 1 expects to be No1
McLaren are either going to have the exactly the same as Ferrari above or what Ferrari used to have with a No1 and support.
All expensive drivers salaries.
RB (and I guess Williams) have got it cheap next year haven't they? We can all agree Riccardos been good these year but can he take the pressure of leading a top team?
