I doubt McLaren have the money, the main team haven't had a sponsor in how long ? automotive are making profit, but its a long way from propping up the F1 team.
Also, entries for 2015 are done (had to be in by Nov 1st), there is no extra team.
Honda probably have a fair bit of cash and the two seats could be filled by paid drivers.
All entries are in but that includes Caterham and Marrusia? Buy the team and you buy the entry don't you?

And Audi will apparently be in F1 in 2004. And 2007. Maybe 2009 as well? Oh and 2014 too as the FIA were going to go for 4 cylinder in line engines as that's what they wanted. Until I see their name on an official FIA Entry list I won't believe anyone.

Just a piece of idle thinking out loud...

Finbar, the Caterham administrator, has said this morning that he is in talks with a potential purchaser of the team & he is hopeful of swift sale to keep Caterham on the grid nex year.

Listening to the slimy Spaniard at Abu Dhabi he did say that he was going to be involved in a project of some kind which sounded a bit odd.

I wonder if he is going to purchase Caterham & run his own team with the self proclaimed driving god as the star driver?

Doubtful it will happen but you never know.

Actually, I think that would be pretty cool if he did. We haven't had an owner-driver since the 70's (I believe - happy to be corrected)

I think it was Emerson Fittipaldi on the Copersucar who was the last owner/driver.

Never going to happen, but would be awesome.

No driver has the budget, mental resource need to drive and get the car to the front in F1 anymore.

I think something like that has been mentioned a few pages back.

I commented that the uppity Spaniard would probably be thinking of Jack Brabham, but should also remember that Graham Hill once failed to qualify at Monaco.

Either way, it would be interesting to watch him drag one his legendary performances out of a backmarker. Because he's worth 10seconds a lap.

I was thinking he might be trying to fund the Ferrari LMP1, which is apparently ready to go if they can get funding.

Agree.

What they'd need is a Ross Brawn-type figure alongside them.

Ross Brawn has been there and got that T Shirt though, it says Brawn GP World Champions 2009.

I know, idle speculation and all that, but everyone's looking for immortality, eh, and Brawn would, at a stroke, become without question the most influential person in F1 (on the team side, anyway) ever if he could pull that off smile

Doesn't Bernie always make sure that there is a GP (usually the Canadian?) on Le Mans weekend, so that current F1 drivers can't take part?

Can't see Honda or Porsche agreeing to this either, which means its either BS or.....

It can get very confusing wall of that gesticulating....

Slime Boy and before him, Massa and Rubens spoke fluent Italian. Perhaps Vettel will rely on Kimi to articulate the finer points of life at Fezza.
