Interesting times at Red Bull, apparently Kenny Handkammer, Vettel's chief engineer has left the team with immediate effect. He is apparently in Suzuka but not at the track.

Surely he's a mechanic not an engineer? Guy 'Rocky' Rocquelin is Vettel's engineer.

Vettel might be off. Where to is open to question though.

Yep, he's chief bolt, not chief engineer. The German story says chefmechaniker.

Seems more likely if the Alonso/Mclaren/Honda rumours are true...

They were saying on the commentary that race management will make a decision re the weather if/when they need to.

It's nice to see an old school circuit testing the drivers.

Uncharacteristic mistake from DR there, tiniest bit of oversteer.

Well done to Max V. Great to get close to a highly rated team-mate at a challenging circuit first time out.

One to watch I think

EJ on BBC recently said that he thought it possible Alonso AND Vettel could end up at McLaren next year.
I thought Vettel was very, very coy in the drivers' press conference yesterday when asked about McLaren/Ferrari.

Alonso seemed to have a knowing smile when asked about the Honda factory on beeb coverage...

I think Alonso will be at McLaren next year and Seb at Ferrari in 2016.

Red Bull will do well here. It will be the closest they've been to Merc so far.

Rosberg will struggle at this circuit

I expect a close duel between Hamilton and Vettel for race win.
Early days but are you still of this opinion?

I think the same, with Jenson partnering Fred, but I'm not sure where Magnusson will go. Not sure they will just dismiss him after one season.

Amd who will replace Vettel at RB. Can't see Kyvat/Vergne moving up, but Red Bull wont want to be seen to go outside their young driver programme.

Why not? Kyvat has been a revelation this year and Vettel only spent one full year at TR? I was sceptical about Kyvat but I'm been seriously impressed by his car control.

One of my technicians Brothers works at the MTC, and has just told us that as far as everyone there is concerned Alonso will be there next year! Apparently he will replace Magnussen and potentially in 2016 Hamilton will come back and replace Button. The first bit I reckon is true but not so sure about the Hamilton replacing Button part. We shall have to wait and see though. Stranger things have happened smile

Be a shame if they bin off Magnussen after one year like they did with Perez. Makes you wonder why they bother getting younger drivers in if they aren't willing to help them develop into experienced drivers.
