I hope JB stays but I guess it also depends on whether is he is prepared to take pay cut- don't know how much he is on at the moment (£10m??) but surely no team will pay him anything like that next season

Ah millions. It's used a lot at work so I find myself using it outside out of habit.

ie. $10MM is ten million dollars. Same as $10M.
hehe Sounds about right

Just seen a post by JB on facebook thanking Mc for the last five years. It didn't read like he was going to continue there.

Ron Dennis has been interviewed by the Danish media saying that the big international (e.g Carlsberg) Danish companies should step up to the plate and support Kevin

What was all that rubbish Ron was spouting on TV the other day when he was interviewed? Look at more data after this race, etc., etc…
What a prize dhead.

Truth is Ron and Alonso are both scared of Jenson !!!!! Alonso knows he can give him a hard time on track and Ron is scared Jenson will upset his Spanish tosser !!!! Always disliked Ron , no iidea how he can even consider Alonso after all the st he has caused in the passed !!!
As a Mclaren fan who has suffered over the last 5 years I want Button to stay !!!! If not my Money I normally spend will go elsewhere !!!!!

Or maybe the Danish giants can get some money into Audi and get Kevin a drive in place of Tom K?

Which would leave Alonso and Jensen to fight with Vettel and Kimi to fight it out for the all important 7th place at every Grand Prix next year ...

I've always liked McLaren but based on Ron's recent antics I'm of the same view as the majority of (soon to be ex)McLaren fans on this forum who are appalled at the current situation.
Your point about how could Ron consider that slimy back-stabbing little s^1t after the last debacle with him in 2007, is beyond me. Sure, there is the sponsor angle, the Honda factor, etc., but at the end of the day Ron is the TP and he needs to get some backbone, get behind his drivers and stop the Ron BS speak.
He's now lost what little credibility he had.

I think this is pretty much my position on this too. I don't expect Ron will give a flying f what I or even we think but that in the end may be his downfall.

When the sponsors realise what an arse he has made of all of this, what incredible statisticians he must employ to even imply KM is anywhere near JB and how honourable he is showing himself to be then they too may leave never to return like the fans!!

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Both need each other for revival of sorts.

Alonso better driver than JB.

I suspect money is an issue considering McLaren lack title sponsor.

<pragamatist hat on>

It might just be down to cost. KM will be way cheaper than JB. They may not have the cash to pay for two WDC drivers.

No title sponsor. Honda and Santander doing everything to get FA. Poor result this year means lower payout from Bernie. JB is unlikely to drive for peanuts.

Might just be £££...

They should be able to get FA for nothing now that he has no other realistic options.

There's no mention of Button, just what's already said, Porsches driver selection will be from within its own driver development program.

In which case Button will be in their 3rd entry for one race... Hardly a lucrative contract.
