Tis true, over 2010-2012 JB scored 672 points to Lewis' 657.
However, it's slightly misleading as Lewis placed higher in the championship 2 out of those 3 seasons.
And I seem to have in mind that Lewis had a few mechanical DNFs.. Not to mention one or two which were awful team calls. However, it's slightly misleading as Lewis placed higher in the championship 2 out of those 3 seasons.
Team calls can be over-ridden by a driver off the back of their race craft- JB has consistently shown an ability to make the right decision at the right time. The famous Canada drive was a case in point.
It'd be tragic to lose Jenson while the likes of massa bumble round though.

Add to that I consistently out-strated their pit wall from my sofa
I think that this is the funniest thing that I have ever read on the internet. Best get your cv sent into the top teams. if you can put together better race strategies while sat in your pants on sofa at home, imagine what you could do with all the data that the teams have available to them. The teams will be falling over themselves to offer you a job TheAngryDog said:

The teams will be falling over themselves to offer you a job There is an interesting article on Jenson in the October autosport mag, which shows other than the 2000 season at williams and 2001 seaon at benetton where he was team mates with Ralf schumacher and Fisichella respectively, JB's has out pointed all his teams mates. Even allowing for messing around with statistics, driver pairings, ifs, buts and maybe's, i'd say thats pretty impressive. Teams dont need one season wonders, they need consistency to help develop cars and get constructors points which is what JB does best.
We all have our favourite drivers and shouldnt be blind to their faults, but its easy to dismiss and criticise any driver from the safety of our sofs (in pants or fully dressed (!!), but all these guys are supremely talented whether they are young or old. To my mind the best drivers are the ones who are able to get results from under-performing cars and in bad conditions (we can all drive fast when its a dry track) so maybe pairing Alonso and Button would give McLaren exactly that.
At some point every driver will lose their speed, reactions, hunger, but i simply dont see that happening with JB just yet. The autosport article suggests JB at 34 has the best reaction test results at GSK human performance lab (I dont know who else they test) so i'd say he still has 1 or 2 more seasons left in him before the likes of Sainz jr, verstappen, vandoorne etc all start pushing the older guys out.
On top of all that, he's also a bl00dy nice bloke, so i'd hate to see him replaced.

The Brownlee brothers - interesting to watch and can be found on youtube. They also did a swimming / running test.
True, but i meant in terms of other F1 drivers they test thus getting a benchmark from that perspective rather than across all sports. The article doesnt really qualify the statement so may be somewhat misleading, but hopefully you see the point i'm making that (IMO) JB isnt quite ready for the knackers yard just yet and i hope McLaren dont just start jumping on the "bring in the youngsters" bandwagon just yet.Jasandjules said:

PitLaneTalk on ttter is saying today that Alonso will replace Button at McLaren, and that Magnussen's seat is also at risk as Honda don't want either current driver. The delay in official announcement is to allow Button time to find a new drive first without weakening his negotiating position. Porsche WEC is touted as likely. No source is given for their information.
So who would be partnering Alonso? Grosjean has a performance clause and can leave Lotus apparently but with them getting Mercedes power next season is that wise? Kobayashi would go down well in Japan but I can't see it. Who else could they get who isn't already signed up? I'm surprised Honda want Button out considering how he performed when they we're doing well and how he stuck by them when they were st. And how they screwed him and Brawn over by leaving with day's notice too.

"Jenson to Porsche WEC" - didn't we on this thread speculate that many weeks ago? They are no better placed than any of us on here and just speculate.Pitlanetalk also said.
