The fact he did donuts today says it all to me.
Me too. At least he doesn't currently have a drive, but whether or not his post race chat with Ron (perhaps pointing out just how much money he saved the team today) will get anywhere!?!?
Fingers crossed ..

He shouldn't be in the position in the first place. Ron should recognise his worth and rehire him.

Will still not know the full story or reasons for the delays yet !

His driving this year made McLaren a lot of money by getting them to 5th. Should stay but probably will. go. Sad and wrong
I bet that they are delighted that he did his job.

McLaren are in a terrible rut and Jensen is just too passive to help get them out of it.

Time for a change.

McLaren are definitely in a rut. But it's a management and development rut, not a driver problem.

What's more, it's a problem Alonso won't solve either.

McLaren should have kept both their drivers for the next season.

Ron is a bloody idiot.

Quite agree. I loved jensons quote to the sky crew about shouting as his last option. Somewhat taking the Piss out of Ron's ridiculous and antiquated management style.

I follow McLaren as they are my local team and I (used to) like the way they went motor racing. Although if they drop button after a season like that then I won't be supporting them next year.

Dan, I agree with this, they certainly won't have my support either, as I have said before.
It's been said that McLaren are not bothered about the fans, why should they be?
Bottom line is, looking at Facebook feeds etc, there's a lot of people out there who dislike RD and McLaren at the moment.

Add another voice to that here.

Quite why they are even considering dumping JB is beyond me.

Lets be honest, Fred didn't exactly set the world on fire at Ferrari when it came to car development so why should he be any better at McLaren?

The self proclaimed driving god didn't exactly cover himself in glory today did he?

Ron is an idiot.

Because even without revealing their future plans, the way they've treated JB recently is extremely poor.

True, It's a shame that you seem to get no thanks for the support! Apart from Jenson himself. A friend of mine has an uncle who used to work at McLaren in the early days of Ron Dennis. He said it was aweful to work there while he was in charge, the only thing that made it bearable was the results achieved. He now has nothing but sorrow for people working there. I guess they lost quite a few staff to Mercedes because of it. And let's not forget the rift caused between McLaren and Ferrari during his tenure, which was mostly repaired by Dominecali and Whitmatsh. Not sure what will happen to the team now.

Got my fingers crossed Jenson remains, and the McLaren Honda partnership works again. I g t the feeling of Ron has his way this won't be the case.

The post race chat between Ron and JB caught on sky's paddock live looked very much like a break up chat to me.

I hope I'm wrong.

Ron though is ever increasingly coming across as a Dr Evil character. He's got the futuristic base, his minions and a grand plan to conquer the world. I admire him for what he's created out of McLaren but their handling of not only the drivers choice, but the season as a whole, is making them look pretty silly.

We have eyes and ears:

They haven't confirmed their drivers yet: fact

This means that it's too late for Jenson to find a drive for next year.

Therefore, they're treating him badly.

They should have told him earlier in the year that they were either dropping him or retaining him to allow him to either develop other options or not

If he had any other options he'd have no doubt exercised them by now.

If nobody else wants him at the price he thinks he's worth, how come McLaren and Ron Dennis are so evil? McLaren appear to have been his only F1 hope for quite some time, so why should they be rushed into a decison they might regret?

a few people have quoted this figure - what $30M is he bringing?
How much did Button bring to the team today by making sure that they didn't finish the WCC behind Force India? 10? 20? more?
