Will Buxton has tweeted pictures of two Marussia cars being assembled in Sochi.

ETA: you just beat me to it!
Thats where i saw it, sorry!

Interesting that the Marussia GP3 team have pulled out of this weekend for commercial reasons, interesting because this is Marussia cars home race.

I just watched the Vettel lap. I can't tell one corner from another, it's all grey track, grey run off and slightly lighter grey walls and there is also more gradient in a fenland field!

Pictures from Sochi show Marussia preparing 2 cars but no announcement of a replacement driver at the moment.
They will have a reserve driver already.

Must be hard for Marussia. They need to safeguard their WCC position so the team can survive, whilst I'm sure they don't want to be seen to "forgetting" Jules :-(

Crap situation all round

Don't think anyone will think they're forgetting him. Jules and his family will all know the score and I can't see them thinking badly of the team. At the end of the day the reserve driver is there to safeguard the hard work Bianchi has done through the year and getting the teams first points. If those 2 points make the difference this year the team will be in his debt with gratitude for a long time.

Looks a featureless and boring circuit. The corners all look the same. Lets hope the sponsors banners and stuff liven the place up a bit, and is completely overshadowed by the spectacular racing.

That strange semi-circular bit of track looks ideal for an epic "round the outside" over-taking manoeuvre hehe

with extra danger of higher speeds and the circuit fenced in and little run off on high speed corners, potential for a horrible accident (or that's how it looked to me when Coulthard and Vettel drove the circuit).

Its now 16:20 in Sochi and Marussia still haven't mentioned what will happen with the second car this weekend which has been built up. Abit of a curveball but could they be using the second car as a spare car for Chilton to use in practice if his car has a problem? As far as i remember there is no rule saying that team mates cannot swap cars in a session.

Ignore my rambling, Alex Rossi will replace Bianchi as per FIA entry list.

Do you have confirmation of that? According to the BBC, Rossi is on the entry list but they haven't yet decided whether he will actually race.

Have people seem the Sochi Formula one t shirt doing the rounds on Twitter? Features a certain Mr Putin dressed in Toyota overalls holding a custom helmet! I hope it's real merchandise!

To be honest, I think any racer would want his team to respect/honour him by running another car rather than keep it in the garage. Having Rossi run would be in no way disrespectful, in my opinion.

Forza Jules

I'll reserve judgement until the race is over but having watched 1st practice it doesn't look promising.

The circuit is pretty dull frown

Already seeing loads of dodgy types with the obligatory leather jackets milling about, Sundays grid walk could be amusing.
