I'm not even sure I want to watch the F1 this weekend. It feels a bit too soon. :/
That said, I'm sure he'd want it to carry on - it seems to be the way with racers.
Fingers will remain crossed.
I dont think it takes a genius to work out what may be going on,sadly. But i disagree in one way......That said, I'm sure he'd want it to carry on - it seems to be the way with racers.

Of course you must watch this weekend.
That is what they do. To quote Gladiator.....
'They Love US for it'
And so.....
'We Love THEM for it',
Ill be watching this weekend and bloody cheering. But still thinking of one of the fallen Gladiators.

Well said, I too will be watching. Have a feeling it will still somewhat take the sheen off the whole event. Can't imagine the sky team being too chirpy after what happened. Of course you must watch this weekend.

The tone of the updates aren't very optimistic which hopefully he will defy with a relatively reasonable recovery. Suspect it was the sudden stop as he appeared to hit the tractors off side rear wheel/tyre which would have provided sod all absorption of the impact. Hope that he's home in a couple of months and is recovering with his family.
If anyone is interested one of the moderators on FerrariChat is a neuroscientist and has been giving some insight into the DAI condition.

I hope JB makes a recovery but I suspect it will never be a full recovery.
I also suspect his career is over, always assuming he either comes back round or doesn't have permanent brain damage [both a high probabilities, particularly as he isn't breathing on his own].
Tragic accident _ thoughts are with the family, friends and other drivers are are clearly devastated by what happened.

I am not a Doctor, but thought I read somewhere (hopefully credible) that Richard Hammond's head injury was similar, and although he had a lot of rehab, he is still with us. I would hope that, as with Hammond (IIRC), that by getting him to the hospital within the golden hour there must be hope?
