I think Ron will tell his minions to ignore you because of your grammatical error in saying "while" instead of "whilst". wink

So I finally lost patience and tweeted this
@McLarenF1 any danger of a driver announcement this weekend or are you still pandering to the Spaniard while disrespecting your drivers?

Not expecting a reply but it made me feel better.hehe
Did one of the unpaid social media marketing interns tweet back?

Guys, we know you're awaiting news on our driver line-up. We'll announce after Dec 1 – you'll hear it here first. All eyes now on Abu Dhabi.

DanielSan, I think you are under-estimating your influence with McLaren PR department! Having said that, Ron is clearly still pandering to the Spaniard.

ETA: Joe Saward now also reporting McLaren delaying decision. No mention of DanielSan's involvement!

And for my next trick, I'll be telling Toto Wolff how I'd like this championship to end. biggrin

Wasn't a direct reply, but I'm assuming I'm one of many asking the question that's starting to annoy a lot of F1 fans.

Anyone know if mclaren are running next years car this weekend, minus Honda engine?
No. Supposedly some "significant" aero improvements at the front end thanks to Peter Prodsomething's arrival.
Cheeky 100/1 shot on a win for Jenson?
If this update is good enough for the McLarens to mix it with the Mercs on pace, in the scenario where Nico is leading in the closing laps, JB is second and Hamilton is third (thus giving Nico the WDC), would Jenson let Lewis past to take the title or hold position for his best finish of the season?

I think he'd hold on to second to be honest. It could be his last race after all...

There is a lot of McLaren love on here. I used to like seeing them do well but they've been such a shambles for the last 5 years that I'm fed up with them. I hope Ron's deal with Honda brings the good times back but it's hard to be confident.

For all of the different scenario we're dreaming up. I can't see Williams or McLaren being within a second a lap of the Mercs if they're pressing on (this is a huge chunk of time to find and isn't the sort of thing we often see at this level).

We're not likely to get rain to mix the result up. It really should be a straight fight between Nico and Lewis. Mistakes and mechanical issues are the only way we'll get a shock result IMHO

I'm hoping for a sandstorm mid race so they have to abandon the race and award half points, oh the irony.

Hold second all day every day. This is business.

As there's no way on earth the McLaren will be anywhere near good enough to mix it with the Mercedes, this point is decidedly moot.

A decent aero update might give you 0.2-0.3s/lap if it's really effective. At times the Mercedes have been 2 seconds and more faster than the McLarens; couple that with Lewis' somewhat committed approach to overtaking and JB, were he to find himself in second, would find himself in third about a nanosecond later.

...Unless Mercedes peg their cars back to aid reliability, we might see a qualifying session nearly as close as Interlagos was then? Of course I'm sure Mercedes will manage their way to locking out the front row.

But if it's his last F1 race, what is more memorable, coming in second, or doing something sporting for his mate that would go down in history?

That would be the second title that Hamilton has been handed by someone letting him passed.

Mercedes will pretty much engineer a car failure to sabotage Hamilton's title chances this coming weekend to aid the German. Even a blind man can see that from a mile off.
Oh not this st again. rolleyes

The Merc team is multi-national, based in the UK, with many senior people being British, and the two so-called German head honchos are actually Austrian (which is akin to calling Eddie Jordan an Englishman). Also it's no secret that Niki Lauda favours Hamilton.

Finally, Rosberg isn't even German.

Whilst not being a Rosberg fan, I'm fking sick of reading that Rosberg is NOT German. He very definatly IS: he was born in Wiesbaden, his mother is German. I suppose she wanted to give birth in der Vaterland hehe
