There's a nice piece I read a few days ago by Will Buxton. He's quite candid about Rosberg:
"I can’t recall the first time I met Nico Rosberg. All I remember is that I despised him, everything he was and all he represented: the cock-sure, entitled, bolshy son of a world champion. No grace, no humility. Wafting in, a blur of blonde hair and arrogance...."
In fairness he does later write that he admires his skill as a driver.

Mercedes pair look pretty tense, though you get the impression Hulkenburg, Alonso, Vettel and Button are in 'end of term' mode.
Rosberg has a face like a smacked arse throughout.
I think Button has the look of someone who has just finished his exams and is about to leave.Rosberg has a face like a smacked arse throughout.

A trouble-free #FP2 ends with @kamui_kobayashi P18 (38 laps, 1:45.505) & @WillStevens_ P19 (34 laps, 1:47.057) #AbuDhabiGP
Is it possible Woof could have pedalled round quicker than Stevens?
To be fair, I didn't watch it live, he may have had some technical issues.

What a moaning sh!t rosberg is....
What does he want his engineer to do...run alongside and attempt to kiss his ass?
Martin suggests that Engineers don't get too excited by things. What does he want his engineer to do...run alongside and attempt to kiss his ass?
Hope if Nico does win the big prize tomorrow the same engineer says, "yeah, okay, well, guess what, you lucked into it, congrats, I s'pose, whatever."
BBC says they are excluded. Does that mean the back of the grid (what about Grosjean?) or pit lane.
Apparently they have to fix them (stiffen it up a bit) or not race.

Great opportunity to see what Vettel will be like versus Kimi in 2015... running from midfield backwards and being upstaged by an unfancied team mate. He has a lot staked on next year. If he fails to comprehensively beat Kimi, his past record will be tainted as mostly Newey's designs and not his racecraft that brought his success.
I think it was Irvine who said, "there is Senna, Schumacher and Newey". Or something like that.As you say unless Vettel thrashes Kimi, Vettel's legacy will be that of a journey man. Ricci has already seen to half of that. Sadly Webber doesn't compare too well now, but people seem to like him.

I think Webber would have been equal/ slightly better than Vettel this season. Very different type of car, and you saw they were pretty equal until the downforce started working fully for Vettel. As you say unless Vettel thrashes Kimi, Vettel's legacy will be that of a journey man. Any other sport if someone is found cheating, then their past winning performances are all looked at. Cyclists have blood samples held for years, just in case dope testing ever catches up with the cheaters.
Would it be too difficult to go and check the Red Bulls front wings from the last four years?

Or any teams? Would it be too difficult to go and check the Red Bulls front wings from the last four years?
I doubt they all still exist. Every part from every race is not kept. Some are broken in accidents, some are sold for charity - there might be a few, but by no means all.
is every team complaint at every race for every aspect by the letter of the rule book? No.

Interesting comparison of points scored for the team between teammates, this is without double points.
Vergne and Kvyat stat makes Kvyat's move to RB seem slightly silly.Crafty_ said:
Not sure how much Sky really did poach people, Brundle (who was out of contract) said that they didn't even approach him about a renewal.
For me, the BBC went off the boil just before Sky took over, the forums had no real structure and felll in to chaos, with EJ sprouting random stuff, DC taking the piss out of him and Jake gurning at the camera smugly.
One of the big plus points of Sky is programs like the one thats on now (interview with John Barnard) and all the "legends" driver interviews.
My favourite BBC pre-show moment was EJ, DC and Jake(?) in the lift in Monaco. For me, the BBC went off the boil just before Sky took over, the forums had no real structure and felll in to chaos, with EJ sprouting random stuff, DC taking the piss out of him and Jake gurning at the camera smugly.

I'm hoping we get Alonso paired with JB in a decent McLaren. Everybody will expect Alonso to trounce JB, but then they expected Lewis to do that to JB in 2010. They'd make a great partnership as I think they already have big respect for each other.
Since it appears the uppity Spaniard is heading to McLaren, I couldn't agree more.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
