BBC, FP2.
Thank you. Sky didn't mention it (well, that I heard over the OH nattering away).
It seemed as if they were talking about something that was accepted. RD wants JB (so not that daft) but the money being demanded required another sponsor on board. The tone convinced me, but then I've been fooled before.

Is anyone at Yas Marina?

Over on the Superyacht thread in P & P, we cannot get any photos of the yachts there. Marinetraffic.com seems to be offline around the Gulf.

If you could post some photos they would be much appreciated.

That was a brilliant read, here's the follow up about Lewis Hamilton

Really enjoyed reading both those articles, thanks for the links smile
Indeed, great article. Let's hope Lewis wins on Sunday.
Really good articles both.

He really nails down whats annoying with rosberg, now I love to see lewis the racer win and also love to hear our carpy anthem after a good race but rosberg has the speed/ability to challenge lewis and if rosberg winning is the result of a great fight then so be it, but in a sport where you're allowed to support half the grid and respect many you don't I just find it impossible to grant him his dues.

Horner wasn't suggesting bringing the V8s back, at least not in the above quote. "If we kept the V6s". He is suggesting that making the existing V6s twin turbos with a more standardised KERS etc would help to make them more affordable, and that being twin turbo would make them sound better than at present
fancy that? one of the components that Red Bull in particular but Renault in general have issues with!

another idea for cost control: limit the iterations through the year - all through the Vettel championship years I remember hearing about Red Bull staff arriving right up to Saturday morning with new wings etc in their luggage. There should be an embargo on new components over a race weekend - anything not on the truck/at the circuit by Friday morning can't be used (duplicates to replace identical components damaged would be okay)

How's about this for a radical idea? Instead of "cost control" why not let teams have a significant proportion of the income they generate by being in F1? evil

I'm sure I heard a slight rattle from Lewis' gearbox in FP2, hope it doesn't grenade; not getting worried are we? biggrin
Ha ha .... Starting to sound just a little but desperate Ash (understandable). Nico starting to be ever more stty as well.

Stress levels (and desperation levels) only rising from here. I do suspect someone is going to crack.... Is it Lewis? Nico?....or Ash????

Bloody hope so!

I've just paid £14 for a JB/Macca cap for him to sign.

His house is still up for sale here, Monaco may be an over expense from now on.

You have heard of Ecclestone, haven't you? He's got daughters to keep from the bread line.

So how much have Willians spent on re-branding for one race, complete waste of money, cars are sponsored by drinks manufacturers, if they don't like it, don't race there

It's no different than when tobacco advertising was allowed in some countries and not others. The Marlboro cars would have a livery that evoked the brand rather than being explicit, in order to comply with the local laws. This is no different.

Yes I know, but I shows how they can waste money, when they are bleeting that F1 has become to expensive

Very little relative to the cost of racing.

The cost of rebranding the cars is very cheap, vinyl and four hours of time plus some graphics work in house. Clothing is part of the sponsorship package and the clothing supplier plus again design dept do this. With no trucks or motorhomes it is not very expensive. What is expensive are the hotel costs, and the airfares......£80,000 for airfares and then hotels.....probably close to the same figure. This is where in addition to salaries the money goes in F1, along with capital costs of some very expensive equipment.
