Hamilton to punt Rosberg off the track, both DNF and Lewis takes the WDC.

It would be fair and just.

And Senna would approve, looking down from above.
Now you've done it...... biggrin
Consider the furore if Rosberg gets desperate and goes in hard, crashes into Hamilton and puts him put and goes on to come high enough to win the WDC biggrin

Thats German tactics, us Brits don't get involved in that kind of thing!

I honestly believe only a mechanical issue can stop Lewis now, Rosberg doesn't have what it takes (yet).
This ^

& this is 2014, the sport under great scrutiny & needs to be politically right or else sponsors will flee.

Lewis will be worried about a repeat of what happened in the last race at the end of 2007.

I bet Merc are really focusing on reliability for the next race. I think only a disaster will stop Lewis becoming WDC. Nico won't dick around. He'll try and drive off into the sunset to get maximum points and hope that Lewis has a bad one. Personally I think Lewis will win the race and Nico will come in second. Lewis has done this before, but I wonder if Nico will be affected by nerves.

Maybe Spa was Rosberg practicing for this race about how to give Hamilton a puncture while only losing part of his wing...? scratchchin

I'd love to see Rosberg's race simulator these next few weeks. 5 hours a day about placing the car to cause a puncture without destroying your own car, hehe

I'm almost taking as read that Nico will be on Pole but Lewis will have better pace in the race. Knowing that a double DNF gives him the championship and is less risk than having to run to the end, and knowing that Nico can't afford a DNF and has to be ahead of Lewis, I can picture Lewis flying up the inside anytime he gets within 0.5 of a second (which he didn't do in Brazil, he was conservative and didn't try forcing a pass.)

Huge pressure on both. Lewis really holds most of the cards in terms of current standings and in terms of recent race pace. He'll know it should be his but the thought of a mechanical issue will be a major nagging doubt. Nico is no mug and has proven himself very fast recently but he'll be mindful that this may be his best ever chance at a WDC and it isn't quite in his hands (how frustrating!)

Can almost imagine them both studying videos of cars coming together to understand the likelihood of different types of failures from different types of contact.

What with Lewis and JB being ex-teammates, and it possibly being JBs last F1 race, I wonder if a deal has been struck.

yes

A puncture won't do it.

Losing a wing won't be enough.

If you are ramming the other guy, you've got to know you are going to break a suspension component. The WDC will be safe if Lewis can get one of Nico's wheels wobbling at a funny angle with a broken wishbone or similar. smile

Rosberg to win, Hamilton will toy with our emotions by qualifying badly, fighting to the lead from the back then spinning off and starting the last lap 3rd only to pass Button in the last but one corner after Rosberg has already finished leading to him being WDC for just 20seconds and reliving Massa's torture :-)

I predict Lewis to win the race after many laps of them passing each other in the two DRS overtaking corners

Maldonado to qualify 3rd and take out both Mercs leaving JB to win by a lap.

I don't think there will be any naughty behaviour. Lewis doesn't do such things (he talks on the track), and I believe (might be mistaken) that Toto was effectively saying that the season has to be won in a manner which doesn't upset the sponsors (which to me indicated Nico's Spa action caused a huge issue).

Rosberg to qualify first, Hamilton will sit out Q3 and start 10th. Lewis struggles back up to 3rd after flat spotting tyres, then on the very last lap manages to claim second place from surprise Williams pay driver, Timo Glock.

Lewis has technical problems and is way out of the points. Rosberg wins the race and the championship.

Rosberg is later disqualified for a "technical infringement".

I'm not sure how, but I feel frozen sausages will play their part. Perhaps somehow involving Piquet?

I have a massive fear the first bit will happen and the second wont.

I just have an ominous feeling that Lewis will get a DNF.

I just keep thinking of Hill/Schumy. Except the points are with the Brit this time.
