Is it just me or does it look like the force india with the colours reversed from the cockpit back?

There's never anything exciting colour wise nowadays, long gone are the yellow "Bitten & Hisses" Jordans or orange McLarens.

Might be in for a nice surprise with Sauber...

Alright, it isn't much to go on (Okay, it's nothing). But there's a strip of blue around the top of the cockpit, and Nasr brings with him Banco do Brasil sponsorship, so it would be nice if their cars turned out like this:

Might be wishful thinking though. I don't think I'd be able to handle another grey car like their effort last year to go alongisde McHonda, Mercedes and Force India.

A thoroughly revised 2014 car?

Sorry McLaren but your 2014 car was piss poor, should've been a ground up design.

fks sake. I was having a fine evening and now I have been overcome by crushing boredom. Boring, fking boring. Here is a team which is so resistant to evolution that it won't even change the colour of the paint in over fifteen years. Boring. fking bored. Thanks Maclaren. fk.
It's a hard feeling to describe isn't it?! It's like anti-excitement, far past anticlimax! What are they thinking!? I genuinely thought it was a joke and avoided looking myself after I'd been shown by a colleague.... I don't get it, and the team gear is even worse.

What the fk McLaren?! Give me something to like about you again. First treating Jenson like a rookie, then recruiting the loose-lipped bonobrow. If it wasn't for Eric Boulier's slightly awkward and comedy approach to the media and anticipation in the next pile of bks to spew forth from Ron, I'd forget they were racing these days.

They better hope Button spanks Alonso because they'll be invisible to the TV cameras otherwise. fk.

ETA - EVERYTHING looked like they were going to go balls out on the "rebirth", to say otherwise is bks. This is money at play (sponsorship) or a complete lack of creative direction.

After all the hype and expectation - as above we can only hope this is an interim livery. kinda reminiscent of a F3000 team teetering on the bring of insolvency with the lack of sponsorship and creativity :/
I suppose that said - the insanely tight packaging of the rear end bodes very well - and better it goes quick than looks pretty. Notwithstanding though, till I see it go quickly....

What a completely dull, boring, disappointing livery. Last year's car was far too dark and looked crap on TV and this one won't look any better.

The basic shape of the car looks good, however. Mr Prodromou has clearly been earning his very large salary. The difference in rear packaging from the start of last season to now is vast. The teams have clearly got on top of the cooling requirements of the new power trains in a big way, so shrink-wrapped bodywork is back. Now they just need to sort out the noise...

Jesus.

The McLaren is bad enough but the force India looks exactly the same! Slightly more orange, what is wrong with the grid! Between Merc, McL, FI, Sauber and Lotus we're going to have a grid of black and silver with two flashes of red!

They've not got any sponsors to worry about how it looks on TV... And at least if the car isn't noticeable, if it turns out to be slow no one will notice anyway.

People are talking about the rear end shape but they haven't actually driven it yet.

Who knows if they'll be doing a Redbull having to cut holes in the bodywork just to get it to do a few laps.

I contemplated getting Sky HD but I'm glad I've got the same black and white portable that I had in 1972.

Given that they only fired the engine for the first time yesterday that's quite some assumption! biglaugh

At least it's got a bit of red on it hehe It amuses me that they're going on and on about the Honda thing with all their silly 80s stuff, twitter hashtags, and it's clear Honda are not just an engine supplier, but a technical partner. But on the actual car, after all of the YEARS of McLaren Honda hype and expectation, the Honda branding is so modest! They've invested heavily in marketing the arrival of Honda, but fumbled it at the last minute with the thing that matters most. For a start, the "Honda" stickers on the engine cover and the "H" logo on the front should've been red. The black just gets lost in the silver next to the Mobil 1 sticker.

It should also say "Powered by Honda" like the old cars did if they really want to highlight that connection (which they clearly do).

Trying too hard, more like a drunk uncle dancing at the family party trying to impress his nieces schoolfriends, that was excruciating.

No wonder jens looked so miserable on sky news earlier.
And yet the uncle has a great time and doesn't care about the opinion of others, wink

They were only allowed to change a certain percentage of the car based on a number of tokens they were "given".

That just applied to the powertrain - the chassis can be all-new

As highlighted in twit world, the MP4-30 has an “evolved colour scheme that firmly contextualises McLaren’s brand” And used by HRT in 2010!

Oh dear! Let's hope it's a bit quicker.
