Was it an anti-climax? Can't find anything of substance anywhere. Supposedly it was a 2014 car with a 2015 nose and in the same livery as testing! And there was a lot of saying nothing very politely.

Im left scratching my head. Maybe we both missed some big announcement that required both drivers to be in Japan.

Apologies if I'm being dense, but I've read that three times now, and I still don't get what you mean.

I meant, why is it launching its halo car in a retro colour scheme, given Ron's stance on McLaren being a forward-looking company etc?

Of the F1 car, Ron said 'why would we hark back to the old days, we want to look forward' (or words to that effect). Then they hark back with the road car, none too consistent!

I'm hardly surprised as it seems the future vision/planning of the road car department is made up on a day to day basis.

That could well be the whole company. Not like the race team is the well oiled machine it once was.
