They've also come out with this. I'd be willing to bet they are going for red and white after this.

I always though that the red and white scheme was to do with Marlborough sponsorship, maybe the picture of this McLaren is just a nod back to the original McLaren Honda partnership and is actually nothing to do with the colour scheme.

Possibly, but the red and white thing has been a 'drip drip drip' through much of the last few weeks promo stuff. I would say the chances are better than even.

It was originally the fag sponsorship - but it has become something of a 'calling card' for the McLaren Honda brand both at the time, and in the imagination of fans around the world.

CNN logo is red so quite a high chance of white for Honda/Japan and red for CNN I think.

No real sponsor logos at all? Where is Santander at least?

CNN logo will be on the front wing end fence only, according to the press release. Whoever made this clearly didn't read it properly.

Alonso leaked a pic with Movistar as title sponsor.

Some of my sources suggest we may see the return of McLaren Orange. Not that they will tell me, no matter how drunk I get them...

Not long to wait now.

I'm sure the new livery will be red & white. All the indications are that they plan to pay homage to the old McLaren / Honda / Senna days. We F1 geeks know that livery was in fact Marlboro's, but most casual fans won't.

Considering Marlboro/Philip Morris sponsor Ferrari I think McLaren will be distancing themselves from a similar livery. They don't want to give free inferred sponsorship to a rival's major sponsor.

Interesting to see this:

In this video:

And yes, I do know he is copying the Marlboro car, but that wing is not from it.
There is a lot of "back to the future" references in that vid, the poster / clock tower article, the camcorder, the hoverboard and the sports almanac.

I think they are going back to red and white, or possibly orange and white.

We always think of Marlboro Mclaren being "pure" red and white, but that "red" has been very orange or even dayglo pink at times!

In the background of the PR video announcemtn with Ron and the CNN fella, there's a broad sweep of cars in the background; F1 and some roadcars. One of the F1 cars (just obscured and out of focus) has orange highlights that seem to be in the position of the red in the Marlboro days.

I always remember being surprised at how Orange the Red Marlboro colours looked in real life!

Exactly, Hondas corporate colours are red & white, not orange & white. It'll be red & white. Can't see Movistar coming in as they have a big ££££ multi year deal with Yamaha MotoGP!

I read the press release that went along with that announcement.

Either Ron is taking the piss or he needs to seek help. Now

A lot of that is down to how the colours look on TV.

When Jaguar entered F1 the green changed numerous times until they were happy how it looked on TV.

The original B&H Jordan in 1996 was a sort of mustard yellow, up until Monaco, when it was re-painted gold. I understand they needed to figure out a shade of gold that wouldn't look awful on TV - but I may have made that up in my imagination

I've not really been following this - what's the issue with having CN Non the endplates?
