Just this:

(Mods, I realise there is a thread in the 'News, politics and other boring stuff to F1 fans' thread, but in the meantime, at least let this run for a little while here please.) beer

If that is correct, then let us hope he improves a lot.

Don't know why Ms Khem, his manager, doesn't give us some update of the situation. All she says about this article is that "that is his opinion", and "He has had no contact with us". If he has been visiting Michael then at least this is pretty clear and she should acknowledge it.

We know he has an extensive medical team at his home to care for him, and also that he is taken outside in a wheelchair from time to time for fresh air and sunlight etc. I just wish his many fans could get a little more of his condition and how/if he is improving.

keep fighting Michael.

You only have to compare how the Bianchi family (and Marussia) are communicating with the fans and as a result I feel included in some way. The Schumacher management seems to treat the fans with contempt as if they don't deserve to know, with the result of wild speculation and rumours. I don't pretend to know how awful it must be for both families, but I can't help feeling more compassion for Jules as a result. Of course, Jules' age and promise make his condition harder to accept.

I don't think we will see either of them 100% back to "themselves", but hope that both can get close. Keep fighting, Michael and Forza Jules!

But we don't deserve to know. Schumie and his family owe zero, absoloutely jack st to any single one of us.

The bloke is seriously ill. If you know anyone with major medical issues, odds are they don't like to talk about it - even to friends. Why the general oublic think they have a right to pry into the private life of famous people i'll never know - especially those who are famous for doing things, rather than those that seek fame (the towie mob).

Hope he gets better, and can tell us himelf if he wants to. In the interim, i wish the media would value his wellbeing higher than the sale price of an extra couple of comics.

I'm going to be honest, I agree. I honestly don't think he (or anyone else I may or may not be a fan of) owes me anything, and I cannot understand the logic of people who feel like that.

May just be me, of course. (and Some Gump)

This. Why do people feel they have some contractual right to be kept up to date with every minor development/detail? Let the man and his family get on with things in peace, if that is what they want.

You know I think it is a tricky one.

Of course these are dark times for both the Schumacher and Bianchi families, and in their shoes I would want total privacy and wouldn't want to feel obliged to be sharing anything with anyone.

But.

They are public figures, it has been their choice and whilst they may not have chosen to become 'celebrities' by default they are and to some extent their earnings are correlated to their popularity and they have exploited this to enhance their earnings, royalties, through appearances/interviews etc.

I agree it is not as exaggerated as some areas but there are many 'Schumacher' fans who have religiously & loyally followed and supported their hero and probably (perhaps justifiably) feel aggrieved that they are not getting any information.

I guess I am saying I can see both sides.

Presumably Ms Kehm is acting on the instructions of her employer, Corinna Schumacher, who has always kept a very low profile and avoided almost all publicity for herself and her children.

I posted the link purely as a bit of information. I agree that the family should not be spied upon or be put under any obligation to inform the press on a regular basis.

On the other hand, it's nice to know a bit of progress appears to have been made, and I'm sure even SomeGump will have been pleased that that is the case.

Well to say they owe anyone jack st is going a bit far; they sort of owe it to F1 fans who effectivley helped make him a super millionaire. I dont personally mind what they do and ofcourse they are within their rights to do what they want, and yes the media must be a nightmare but you cant ignore the fact he is / was a super famous sportsman with thousands of fans around the globe.

If his family want total privacy, then why come out and say things like "Michael is slowly getting better, and showing signs of improvement etc etc. I have heard a few statements from different people, so if he is on the road to recovery then at least they should tell us the update and condition.

He is a worldwide famous sportsman with millions of fans worldwide. I do feel the family has a right to privacy but also they should update the public with his condition, it would also stop all the rumors and gossip about his condition too.

Keep fighting Michael & Jules

Michael's family don't owe anything to anyone. Michael got where he did on pure talent and determination and maximised his abilities to generate a huge following and income. To now think because he was a public figure during his work, his family has the obligation to feed the masses with any information is utterly bonkers.

Leave them alone to deal with a horrible situation, just hoping he makes any kind of reasonable recovery should be enough for anyone who considers themselves a supporter of Michael.

Agreed on the above re them not owing us anything, however as a fan I'd like to know about his general well being as I often think about him. The family are entitled to as much privacy as they like, and if that's the way they choose to do things then I accept that and their reasons. Keep Fighting Michael.
