Entirely correct to punish drivers because deflection increases performance therefore their lap times were not achieved fairly.
True but it could also be a good test to see if they get overtaken given their performance should reduce...

And of course if you want to see the sport in all it's corrupt glory, just recall the 1984 Tyrrell saga - something Brundle ought to have an interesting perspective on...

This was just how they rolled in F1 then, and nothing has changed since.
To be fair to Ken, the political situation was the major cause of that period. It is extremely unlikely that the 'favoured' teams were pristine. They were just not checked.

But I bet a recently arrived person at McLaren asked Charlie for an opinion about legality. I doubt that the wing concept was something that only arrived on the RB this weekend.
That was jut one of the spooky coincidences. Nothing to see here. Move one.

I can never resolve the aerodynamics guys saying how critical the front wing/road gap dimension is, yet a slow motion of the car in a corner riding the kerbs shows the front wing flapping like a drunk bird, the tyres wobbling like a jelly. The whole car resembles an out of control pong pong ball. Wimg to ground gap control ? Pull the other one !!

Oh, indeed, Tyrrell was done up like the proverbial kipper. Lovely bloke. The saga showed and I would argue continues to show the futility of attempting to paint anything as black or white.

Only because it makes for dramatic tv pictures.

The true aero worth is through the medium to fast corners where the thing is forced (hopefully) into the ground. Mr Director probably doesn't position the slomo cameras on these corners as the pictures would be less dramatic, curb hopping through chicanes is simply about mechanical grip-or lack of.

I doubt the effect would be that great I think Red Bull probably have the 3rd best car around this track either way - but that is not the point.

Maradonna used his hand but he was the best player so he deserved the goal. (sorry can't think of a better (or more recent) analogy)

No wonder the best designers are looking for a new challenge. Slightly O/T but maybe time they look at how "Merc doing everything a little better" = 1.5sec.

Feel the bitterness.

I be that their is not one single car on the grid that doesn't contain a liberal interpretation of the rules that the FIA wouldn't like.

The Toyota WRC turbo cheat still rules though.

Edit to add an early piece from Scarbs on the RBR wing

Red Bull started the 2014 car with an illegal and finish the season with an illegal car.

I cannot wait to see what Vettel does at Ferrari. Such a shame Kimi isn't at his peak. I really hope that Kimi puts Vettel in his place next year. never rated the guy, always thought they just had the best car/

Is it just be, or did anyone else witness Horner almost dropping himself in it when asked which wing they will be using. He kind of hesitated before answering the Brazil wing??
