From the same article! WFT is Moss smoking?
I can see where Sir Stirling is coming from - Schumacher was in the best car when he won his championships, in a team set up specifically around what he needed to win and his team mates were racing with one hand tied behind their backs. It makes it difficult to know how absolutely quick he was. I have always felt that the number of championships Schumacher has are reflective of the situation at the time he was racing as much as his ability.Sterling Moss said:
"It was a wonderful result for the guy who deserved it," Moss told BBC Radio 5 live. "I'd put him above Schumacher. I mean Schumacher just happened to win a lot of titles, but he wasn't as quick."

Poor old Stirling , he sounds desperate to make an impact with a statement Sterling Moss said:

Good to see LH taking time out to remember where he came from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU93fChJxIc

Moss reckoned Schumi wasn't as good as LH in quali even though LH has been poor in quali. Having been rated as the quickest driver he has made far too many errors in Q3 for my liking.entropy said:

I don't disagree with you, Lewis has made more mistakes than he should have done in quali this year, we probably should be grateful as it made the races and championship closer!andyps said:

I think, impossible to say that LH is a faster driver in the race just because he closes on NR as there are so many variables that things are never equal.
Certainly NR's qually speed is the most surprising thing for me. LH was touted as the one-lap king and I accepted it. For NR to beat him, and by 10ths, was a shock.
A fascinating season.

TBH, he hasn't done anything worthy of a Knighthood imo.
So he could get it then, you reckon?I'm sure that when the time comes for him to be knighted (if he ever is) then I am sure he will be deserving of it. I'm not a fan of his, but it is nice to see that he is maturing and has proven me wrong. He had the best car this year, but he is a better champion than SV can ever hope to be imo, especially after all of the issues he has had. We do not know what went on behind the scenes when things haven't gone his way, but when it mattered, he delivered. I'll be surprised if he doesn't turn 2 championships into 4 at least.
I haven't said it yet, but well done Lewis (not that he will ever read this).

Am I the only one who thinks that Jackie Stewart talks utter st?

I mean, I should love the guy; champinship winner, old school racer... but every time I read a quote I just think "the fk is he on?!"
I'm too young to remember Stewart when he was a champ and doing his media stuff, but from reading his autobiography (which isn't the easiest book to read IMO) I don't think that he talks st, he just speaks his mind with more authority/attitude/less room for manoeuvre than most do. Witness his infamous interview with Senna post Prost crash. It leaves you adding all of the salt because he doesn't use any. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30179256

His comments (out of any context remember) don't strike me as outrageous in any way and his points about keeping his head down and avoiding distractions are probably of as much interest as a window into how Stewart did what he did than as a passive comment on Hamilton.

Absolutely - very surprising. The set up may have had something to do with it but without inside information I guess we just don't know.A fascinating season.

According to Mark Hughes: "At both venues Rosberg secured pole but Hamilton had better race pace, the difference being that in Brazil Nico was able to use the track position advantage that pole had given him to keep Lewis behind. But both times Rosberg had fine-tuned a better one-lap balance from his car and delivered the big Q3 lap more effectively than Hamilton, whilst in the more variable conditions of the race as the tyres, fuel load and track surface changed Hamilton was better able to improvise."

Schumi turned down McLaren and possibly an intra team rivalry with Hakkinen which would have been fascinating.Arguably LH's achievment's trumps Schumi's record WDCs on the basis of intra team rivalries are far more intense than team rivalries.
