From the crash.net coverage:

Eric Boullier has just said the problem keeping McLaren in the garage is electrical but "completely unknown"

hehe

It still hasn't been out on track today. Still, I guess they'd rather have these issues now rather than in Feb.

Raikkonen is testing for both days isn't he?
I think just one day, he did 80 laps yesterday. I assume they are paying him per lap... biglaugh

Can anyone tell me why the testing lap times are so much faster than the race lap times from the weekend ? Bottas' best time yesterday being 1:43.884 vs the race best of 1:45.727.

And oops.... it apperas Honda are having the same teething issues the other teams had last year..... are they basically one year behind and doomed never to catch up? That will please Alonso no end.

How many laps was that over? Bottas' qualifying lap for P3 was 1:41.025.

yeah, don't forget RB's tests at the beginning of the year were pretty disastrous, but they still managed to win races.

this current 'minimal testing regime' makes teams look pretty stupid frown

What's wrong with McLaren Honda running this on a rolling road for the next few months? As long as there's no air flow it's bench testing rather than a wind tunnel.

I am sure there will be plenty of testing on the bench.

The only problem is now if they have a bad 1st test, they have lost 2 days data on the new 2015 tyres, although these are very similar to 2014, but still other teams have done 150 plus laps vs 4, so will be well ahead in terms of data and testing.

So as long as they can get mileage at the first test, these 2 days of problem solving will have been well worth it.

Boullier says it went well overnight and started and ran fine at 6.00am but once started at 9.00 it went wrong again.

So, goes well in the dark but dies as soon as the sun is up.

I always though Ron had something of the night in him........

At least it sounds good. It seems louder than the others and a bit more raspy.

It does sound good. I wonder if it's not running the wastegate energy recovery yet so a bit more energy is escaping as noise.

They aren't, and probably won't ramp up to full recovery for a while.
