Austria i'd like to do next year. Think it looks a great track.

Did Monza last year and Spa the year before, not done Silverstone for a few years mainly due to the cost!

I have been to at least one race per year (and usually three or four) since 1987. I won't be going to any next year though. This is because I went to Barcelona this year and was totally underwhelmed by how disappointing F1 is in the flesh with the new generation of quiet cars. I love it on the TV, I think the cars and racing are better, but 'live' it is now in no way worth the considerable investment of both money and effort.

The wife and I were at the Italian Grand Prix in 2014, and while we enjoyed the race, the 'behind the scenes' action was great. We could stand at the exit of the paddock and see lots of race people crossing over to the secure car parking and paddock clubs. So it was easy to get photos and autographs, which the wife enjoyed, even if she didn't know who half of them were....

Are any other race circuits so informal and accessible?

Hopefully Spa, Germany and maybe Austin. Family in Germany and we are planning on making a road trip of the Spa run with a few lads (one of them on a Harley)

Thinking of Monza next year.

Fancy another road trip, I did Monaco this year, so Monza sounds like a good plan next year?

Just to update this, flights to Dallas now booked woohoo
This one is going to be a 40th treat to myself and will include driver meet and greet, full 4 day hospitality, the works and I can't wait smile

None.. I've been to Monaco once as the whole 'circus' there is worth the visit.

Silverstone was way overpriced for what is delivered so won't be returning to an F1 event there.

IMO F1 isn't currently worth the ticket price for attending a circuit.

Tempted by Mexico, Brazil or something a bit different. Silverstone, American (Austin) 2014 but wont do Silverstone 2015, but if its New Jersey 2016 I'll go then. The European circuits are at wrong time of year for me and Monaco always clashes with business

Nobody going to Sochi then with their shiny new circuit?

Nice we want to do this one in 2016.

Just had our 2015 Austin run kaboshed by work frown

Still Spa is a go and we are still planning another too, still probably Hockenheim

Mrs Chev is desperate to see Jenson race this season in case he's out for 2016. I suspect Hungary is the only convenient race for us. Anybody been? Any advice? The idea of a long weekend in Budapest rather appeals.

Hungary for us this year after the last two years at Monza. 4 day Grandstand tickets for less than the price of GA at Silverstone.

Get a cab to and from the race. Train is a pain and a long walk

Went to see the Canadian GP, was awesome! Sat on Grandstand 1, best seats in the house.
Off again this via Toronto!

Cheers for the advice. Contemplating using an agent I've used several times before for foreign trips. They organise transfers to the circuit each day.

It's all a bit up in the air this year as I'm using half my AL allocation to drive down to the Rechberg Hillclimb in April. We'll see.

ideally Austin, I have been twice and the Yanks really know how to put on a show. More likely Silverstone due to a somewhat reduced travel budget this year.
