Kind of a pity about the radio ban though, it was a bit more interesting to have the driver have to do the working it out for themselves.

Aye - the radio ban made sense - hard to enforce I guess though

Double points was never going to last but I wouldn't mind seeing points for pole positions and fastest laps

I was looking forward to that too. The partial ban in the 2nd half of 2014 season didn't seem to cause them any noticeable problems.

And just think of all the Kimi based humour we'd miss out on!

I like the idea but can't help but think that the bottom end teams would just produce a qualifying spec car to get the points and sod the race?

Wouldn't that make the race interesting though?

Indeed! It's not nice watching the last race when someones already won the championship. It is good watching a battle to the end. Last weekend, hammy didn't NEED pole, but still went for it, as it's the best way to with a champ.

I just remember the old days of btcc when Mike Smith pitted for fresh tyres and got fastest lap and the points that came with it and someone had to explain to Frank Sytner that it was his team mate, he was furious

According to Autosport, the ban in its current form will remain, rather than being made tighter still as was planned:
"The Strategy Group also agreed that F1's radio ban would remain in its current guise for 2015.
It means that only direct help for drivers will be outlawed - rather than pursuing the hardline clampdown on all team-to-driver communication as was originally planned."

Slightly OT, but is there a way to replay the radio messages on some site either during the race, or post-race?

Pity, I was looking forward to standing restarts. Maybe they should allow side-by-side rolling restarts from SC like Indycar?

This is normally the easiest way to get them a few days after the race.

Id like to see the same points awarded on a Saturday as they are on a sunday...but then reverse the grid for the race. It would mean you'd aim for 25 points on the qualifier start in 10th place and have to race to get another 25 points for the win without just pissing off into the sunset as per most of the pole sitters.

Does that mean if you had a 10 place grid penalty for changing your engine you'd move up the grid?
