Interesting, I wonder how much truth there is in this:

Not sold as such but yes the plan as of today is to run the 2014 car next year from the old Manor base (as HAAS now owns the original Factory) under the Manor name.http://www.autoracing1.com/rumors.asp?tid=12689
Be interesting to see if it all works out as it's not exactly a long time until the first test this year!
7 weeks 6 days to complete the sale of the team, set up a new base, find some staff, sweet talk Ferrari into supply engines despite not being paid for the last lot, build the cars and get to Australia.
Actually, that is more like 7 weeks 2 days, because they need to be there for scruntineering on the Thursday, less customs clearance and transport. Lets just call it a round 7 weeks.
Not a chance.

Marussia's cars are currently in Abu Dhabi, packed up in crates, and Booth said it would be a "fairly straightforward job" to prepare them for Melbourne.Actually, that is more like 7 weeks 2 days, because they need to be there for scruntineering on the Thursday, less customs clearance and transport. Great news if they are able to run a team this year under Manor.
Taken from the BBC site here's something that made me laugh, and more proof that the FIA Blazers are living in the dark ages they have to use a FAX VOTE to make a decision!
Anyone relying on a fax vote in 2015 is living in the dark ages.
A meeting of the rule-making strategy group agreed last November to allow both Marussia and their back-of-the-grid rivals Caterham to use their 2014 cars in 2015 if it would help them race.
But the issue would still require a fax vote of the FIA World Council, the sport's legislative body. This would be considered a formality should Marussia be able to put a deal together.

If they get to the grid, can they collect their 9th place money?
Will the administrators have that already, or will they have forefeited it by going into administration?
i believe it will be paid on the team taking part in a session. Will the administrators have that already, or will they have forefeited it by going into administration?
Knowing Bernie its squirrelled away hidden behind a wall of red tape

I didn't know they would be allowed to use the 2014 car. That makes arriving for at least one weekend a technical possibility. But will Ferrari play ball on the engine front along with many other political issues.

In the past it was entirely up to the teams when ( or if ) they changed their cars for a new design - unless of course there was a rule change making the old one illegal. For example the Lotus 72 arrived mid-1970 and lasted until 1975.Surely requiring teams to produce a new car every year whether they want to or not can't help their costs ?

As the cars are in Abu Dhabi, I would assume these were shipped for the last race of the season and left there because shipping them back is silly money. If so they could have engines already fitted / with them with some run time left on them, doubt Ferrari would want them back. Theres probably more than just the 2 cars in Abu Dhabi if this is the caseThat makes arriving for at least one weekend a technical possibility.
