^ It's a very tall trophy cabinet. Either they took a ladder, or all the F1 trophies were within reach at the bottom, or if they were after the scrap value, they wrecked the cabinet to get to the top trophies, crashing them down to floor level.

Can't help but think there's more to this, that something much more valuable than the trophies was stolen at the same time, with the trophies being merely a diversion from the real theft.

Intellectual property.

They've stolen Newey?

Terrible news. I hope the trophies are found swiftly and undamaged.

After reports that the men involved used a 4x4 with foreign plates, police issued the following image.

It seems they forgot the ladder...

Think Horner has said a lot are replicas, which make them even less valuable for the dumb ass thieves

Almost all, except Constructors trophies are replicas.
But they are identical to the original in every way...including the material

Q: Why were the thieves able to break into the factory and steal the trophies so easily?

A: Because Red Bull's trophies were all in the flexible front wing.

To be honest I'm stunned by how easily they got in.

Gerri Halliwell collects shiny things doesn't she?

still makes you wonder, scrap silvers what? £125-250 a KG (500-975) and I cant see them adding up to that many KG's?

Lot of effort to go to

How about holding them to ransom and selling them back for anonymous bitcoins? How much would RB pay to get them back?

I'd guess they'd pay about the same as the price of having replicas made. More likely nothing - on a point of principle.

As for not being able to sell them, I'm not so sure. There's a black market in art. Maybe these were stolen to order for someone paying big bucks.

The point will be, Red Bull do not have the trophy's anymore.

I do not understand why they did not have ram raid post up in the form of Red Bulls cans.

the only real explanation to my mind is that these were stolen to order, some wealthy F1 nut wanted them and hired some bunch of thugs to go and get them

I don't suspect these were stolen to order for any collection. I think far more likely just some scrote nicking them for the scrap metal value.

I saw this Red Bull video on youtube the other week and Christian Horner pretty much shows any thief how to ram raid the foyer where the trophies are in the first minute.

Half way through I did think it unusual the trophies were so prominent at the front of the building in a low security business park. Mind you I was probably more shocked by Adrian Newey's "filing system". I'm surprised the cleaners haven't been approached to lift a few papers.

I appreciate the openness for fans who want to visit, but wow, that's seriously open! Presumably a very quick easy job for a bit of scrap value.

I do hope the first two in the door were replicas?

does make you wonder though...

two cars used both on non-UK plates.

then you read stories like this:

"Mr Lazar, 36, a part-time self-employed scrap metal collector"
