That's sort of my point. When they were small they couldn't win. Now they are big they can.

So have they got better at the game? Or just bigger and so able to throw more effort at it?

Success is clearly at least partly a function of size - so it's back to Winners of Budget of The Year.
Toyota will probably go down in history as the team that spent the most and applied the most people to yield the least success.

Ford threw hundreds of millions and much resource at Jaguar and succeeded in only reversing the upward trajectory that Stewart had started - reversed only after Red Bull hoovered them up (and spending less with few people as well).

Money and size does impact on success - but not always.

Hmmm. Doesn't carry any weight coming from, as you say, a violent criminal both on and off the sporting pitch. Not even got the sense to keep his mouth shut........

Like when Honda were throwing enormous sums of money at the same team? That team has never been 'small'.
Eh?

Even in Honda days, brackley was a small outfit.

One thing that has had me chuckling to myself is when I saw the picture in the news today and then thought of this... biggrin

Honda in Japan 'interfered' with Brackley's efforts.

According to the Wail, there's a backlash about his tax status:

To be fair there's probably quite a few Daily mail readers who also don't pay any tax....

Don't get me wrong...I was routing for Lewis throughout last season, and I think he thoroughly deserved the championship.

However I will be very surprised if he gets in the top 3. His interview didn't come across well, and his promo video wasn't as humble as the others.

I just don't think he has won the hearts of the British people.
Ooops, you live and learn biggrin

Well if the billionaire is so st stupid as to leave his/her money in a bank account they will soon be almost penniless with the laughable interest rates banks pay.
Penniless? You could probably get a bank account paying 2%, so after a year you've earned £2m interest on your £1bn, 40% tax on that is £0.8m, money in bank is £1.012bn. After ten years you've got £1.3bn in the bank.

Call me Mr Picky, but I think I could just about exist on £1.2m a year.

'Can't believe they gave SPOTY to Hamilton. 1. Formula 1 is the most boring sport ever. 2. He brought a dog with him. 3. He's a tax exile.

This is from someone who kicks a sack of air around. hehe

One thing that annoys me is the concept of 'they' in this. Mr Barton as well as numerous stick-swingers seem to imply that it was the BBC that chose who the award was given to, rather than there being a public vote. LH won by a (surprisingly) huge margin. Having said that SPOTY does often throw up surprise winners. Zara Phillips anyone?

I also wonder if Barton voluntarily paid UK taxes if not required to do so when on loan to Marseille...

That's not all he kicks around, apparently. Although technically you could class human beings as sacks of air.

Laughed my arse off at #2, I wonder what else you "shouldn't" win if you bring a Dog, an Oscar, a Brit, Golden Globe etc, plenty of people turn up to those with dogs...

Perhaps mentally deficient footballers should just be told to shut up by their PR team and have their phones and social media accounts removed to avoid making tits out of themselves.
