Fernley saying they might struggle to get the new car to the 3rd test (also saying they might take the 2014 car to the second test).

They are only taking the 2014 car if they can sell the seats arent they?

By voice from a person who is building the 2015 car.

Bearing in mind they can rebuild a car in a few hours at a racetrack how come Force India worry they won't be able to build it in a month?

It sounds like a lack of other components needed. Maybe they have paid the bill for the tubs but have outstanding debts with other suppliers?

fk 'em, giving it the Billy big balls to keep Manor off the grid in 2015 when they are in no position themselves.

It has to be drilled in a jig and new brackets fitted precisely and other fixings applied, so takes time to build it first time. I doubt they will have the 2015 car at the next test but the old car might be there.

F1 needs as many cars on the start grid as possible to make it good racing, to dismiss a team as you have on the say so of one person is not good for the sport.

It takes weeks to install all the parts, looms and hydraulics into a tub. When they do a major circuit based rebuild they are only bolting on major components to what is an already built up base unit. If the original tub is damaged they use a spare that has all the time consuming install work already carried out.

Now add in all the changes made during a new model design and you should see how long a process that can be.

nice video here from the winter build of a V8 Williams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQotBbt8NiA

To be fair, it seems like Manor's plan for a return to F1 was pretty much ' we know someone who's going to give us some money, but can't tell you who it is or how much, or when' - http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/feb/06/force...

...or who is behind it, because if it was a McLonda after a second team to use as a development and research platform, it could give them a few tenths advantage that none of the other players are not going to accept. As it stands, with just one team running their PU, they are at a significant disadvantage compared to Renault, Ferrari and Mercedes. This suits the others just fine thank you.

I think Honda have fairly clearly said they are only going to supply McLaren this year but have the option to supply additional teams in the future, maybe 2016 but I can't remember.

This.
Disagree, it'd be a mockery if the team who pushed the hardest to prevent manor racing themselves didn't compete.

As I wrote on another thread, it does seem short-sighted of FI to block Manor's use of 2014 cars.

The 2014 car might end up being their only option at the start of the season.

True but they will say they can show a detailed plan of what when and how and how its paid for which is what they want to see from Manor.

I may have missed this...but has the FI '15 tub passed crash tests?

I'm sure it will but I haven't seen it reported that it has. Not sure how the crash test works, do they test just the tub or the whole car (which doesn't seem to be ready yet).

The tub is reported to still be at the suppliers in Portsmouth. The usual supplier had a problem, so it went to another company, the other company, being sensible seeing recent F1 problems has asked for the cash before releasing the chassis.

The chassis haven't past crash test, so until they are released Force india won't be much of a force. Hence they stone walled Marussia, the £450,000 they will get from Marussia not winning is a big deal to them
