Rosberg does a 1.25.5 on medium tyres as part of a 12 lap run.

That's pretty ominous...when Kimi did his on mediums but as part of a much shorter run.

Wehrlein must have been a rather happy chappy driving both the Force India and the Mercedes. Spawny get!

But having learnt a lot about both cars, I wonder how much non-disclosure there is between the teams?

Wonder if Alonso is thinking if he jumped ship at exactly the wrong time...
At the moment he is hopefully concentrating on what he has, not what he hasn't. He seems to know this year will be a building one for McLaren and Honda and would have made his decision based on that along with the knowledge that his input at Ferrari hadn't taken effect and maybe would do later.

Makes sense tbh. If Rosberg still has a dicky neck and Lewis lost out on yesterday its a good solution.

This.

He knows it's a new engine, car, and to a point a team in transition for those reasons. There's no way they can't be thinking of at least the first half of this year as a write off while they work on development.

Looks like Redbull have got themselves sorted at this test. Almost 100 laps up for the day.

Tyre smoke with picture taken at an angle that makes it look like it's coming from the exhaust.

Not when McLaren say it was excess oil.

The Mercedes seemed very impressive today.

As expected really.

Yep, Hamilton's quick lap on the mediums was rather ominous but it's early days.

I'm a bit confused by what Williams are up to - they just seem to be doing long runs and not really worrying about what the car does on the limit. I'm hoping they're keeping something back ....

So Mercedes are around a second a lap quicker than the next fastest car, no change there then. Non of the teams have made no sort of ground up on Merc what so ever, which is fairly disappointing.

Bit early to be jumping to conclusions like that but I see you've made your mind up already.

From Autosport: 10:50 Kvyat's Red Bull has splashes of green aero paint on it. That ruins the camouflage livery - we can see it now.
