If from Barcelona onwards Mclaren can match Williams, Red Bull and Ferrari and beat them, they can class this season as a huge success imo. Will they be upto speed to that degree by then? It remains to be seen but so far there's little to be confident about.
Agree with that. Let's hope!

I'm banking on the Honda unit being more potent than anyone expected, a surprise match for the Merc even... Wishful thinking, I know.

According to the BBC website, Mclaren haven't managed a lap so far today in testing.

Which was actually a power unit removal due to a faulty sensor. Not nice to be a McLaren fan at the moment. Other teams tell it like it is.

I presumed they would be checking systems having replaced the power unit, doesn't come across as hiding anything to me.

Well if it's going to happen then the afternoon of the last day is probably the least damaging...

That's a bit of a dis-service to McLaren.

Years ago some Touring car team

"Why did you retire?"
"Alternator failure"

Well yes, the con-rod and piston came out the block and smashed the alternator laugh

Whats with @ask crofty replacing teds notebook? please tell me this isn't permanent?

We like teds notebook. I know some of you put him down for not meeting some standards but he has a fan-like enthusiasm and passion, and pitlane goss by the cheeky chappy going around annoying people is a relaxed and interesting way to sign off a weekend. Crofty has no where the charisma.

I don't know. Ted seems to lack even basic engineering or technical knowledge and tries to make up for it by being funny, while Croft makes a better radio presenter, no charisma as you say.

Worst thing is that when these programmes are aired, everything's been and gone, we've read it all so there's nothing really interesting.

Had a meeting with Charlie Whiting in Barcelona on Friday about some work I've got involved with for the FIA. What a thoroughly nice guy!

It's just for this test, I think Ted must be doing some pre season and F1 show stuff.

I simply can't believe that anyone with any more knowledge about F1 than knowing the cars have 4 wheels and an engine can enjoy watching ted kravitz.

Even my wife thinks he's a knobhead
