If the Santander link held any water she wouldn't be an Lotus. Are they sticking with ferrari or did they follow Fred back to McLaren ?

If she's got talent in her genes its bloody well hidden, go look at her racing record.

Santander sponsor Ferrari and McLaren.

Neither of whom need her.

Maybe she hasn't been hired for her marketing potential? Her father is an ex racing driver, maybe there's talent in the genes?
She did a great job hiding that talent in GP3 then....

I don't think even McLaren are desperate enough to take her at the moment. I think Lotus are. It appears they were even in doubt for Melbourne till BE bailed them out today.

Makes sense to me. Bernie keeps Santander interested in F1, keeps Lotus afloat and Jorda gets what he wants.

To put it bluntly I doubt Bernie gives a flying fk about Santander or Jorda being test driver. Plenty of other fish to fry.

I also don't think Lopez is one to bow to Bernie. He's got enough on his plate.

Whatever. It's clear they met in the last few days, with Lopez bemoaning his cash flow problems and that BE has agreed to advance the prize money they're not due just yet, to help them.

I acknowledge your doubts but there far stronger evidence all over the place to support the opposite of that.

So Bernie moved the payment forward a couple of weeks (or at least thats what this article implies: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formul...

Lopez is quite a canny guy, I expect he's seen Williams get publicity from Susie (and Patrick at SHR in NASCAR) and realised there could be mileage in it if you'll pardon the pun.

If she was placed to keep Santander happy she would have been at a year years ago as a test driver.

I don't get the double standard here, since the start of Grand Prix racing only a select few drivers have got there on talent alone without bringing something to the team. Whether it's funding or publicity value, what's the difference?
There are pay drivers with more money than talent...and then there's someone who has failed to score a single point in three years of GP3 being given an F1 development drive. That's just beyond absurd. If anybody, man or woman, had the racing record she does they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near an F1 team.

Driving for Koiranen in GP3 in 2014, in 14 races she failed to score a point. She was then replaced by Dean Stoneman for the final four races...and he won from pole in his first race. then scored a second place...and another win.

Ah, she's the cover for Maldonado.

As in the person who puts the cover over the car when he crashes it.
