My boys are going (husband & son-in-law) and I'm starting to get quite jealous now! Road trips usually involve me & himself!

Himself's first F1 and he is now feeling pretty smug that son-in-law talked him into this as today we have got them blagged into Porsche's pits - hope you all enjoy the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup too biggrin
Keep the son in law out of the driving seat Molly or you'll be back in an Aston.

We got here 3pm Thursday. Bad traffic in the UK and in Brussels.
We are on green 121 campsite. I'm sad to say they've cracked down on all the 'characters' .
no noise after midnight. No loud sound systems. No this no that. Heavy police presence for some reason even though there's barely a raised voice!.
Some people go to such an effort. Hot tubs, dj decks, sofas, fire pits, bucking bronco, their own portaloos.
I was expecting sleepless nights and endless partying. Never mind.
On the plus side the circuit is awesome. I want to drive it at some point in my life.

We might get there before the race... We were always going to miss friday, but I didn't reckon on spending 5.5 hours are the euro tunnel terminal!

Neil!! Nice to 'see' you!

Unfortunately the boys were last heard of stuck on the wrong side of the channel since lunchtime today & I've told Rob not to call me again 'til they get through!

They certainly hadn't cracked down on the "characters" on our camp site, being woken at 8am by the intro to Guns & Roses Sweet Child of Mine accompanied by explosions that would put the household cavalry to shame has been the story of my last 5 days.. Then the "8 discos all going at once" until 4am every night.. Yup, Belgian GP was as mental as ever!

None of that at Camping F1!

Was my first time with them and was impressed.

We pitched next to the main bar dj tent.

The walk to the track was a pain but otherwise good. Showers were cold!

Eddie Jordan is a plonker but fair play to him, he can do what he wants.

Martin Brundle I could listen to for hours. Real highlight of the trip.

I think i'll be back next year! Anyone do the other ones with F1 Camping?

A friend and I was there, showers were warm! but only if you didn't go first thing in the morning and got one after getting back from the track, was refreshing.
Did anyone get stuck? the site turned into a bog after the rain came Sunday night, 3 lads were body surfing through the mud laugh and then found the showers had NO water. They were next to us.. but even having had me and a few people fix their tent after it half blew down.. they kept chatting till 1-2am Sunday night irked

Missed the Brundle night unfortunately, but caught Eddies.. hehe

I was very impressed with Camping F1. We were caught in the chaos that was Eurotunnel on Friday, I rang head office from the terminal to explain the situation and they couldn't have been more helpful.

We were told they would be there until 11.30pm, and if we weren't there by then, then pitch a tent and they would dort it in the morning.

When we got to the site, the girls where still checking people in well part midnight because they were well aware of the tunnel issues. I was skeptical about what the on site bar might be, but was suitable impressed to find a full bar with a good selection of beer. The pizza's were great as well.

10/10 for Camping F1
0/10 for Eurotunnel. That is *much* longer tale...

Oooh look - there's me in the red T-shirt!

I spent 2 hours helping push people out of the mud with very few words of thanks from anyone (while we were stuck ourselves!). If the driver of the Merc GLA with the caravan attached is on here - you were a dick! Trying to force your way out while other vehicles were stuck / being pushed out in front of you. I (along with a few others) were secretly praying that the tow rope that snapped had in fact pulled your sub frame off instead.

Neil - I was at the very top of the field (top of the hill) so not a million miles away from you.

The camping aspect was ok - a little farcical on arrival with no wrist bands available and no directions as to where to pitch up, so we just pitched up where we thought was best - unfortunately the staff member who should've been telling people where to go didn't like it and wanted us to move - after the tent was up. He was politely told that it wasn't going to happen and that he should have been there telling people where to pitch instead of off having a brew! The showers were cold a lot of the time, although this isn't a major problem. The toilets on the Friday night were vile though! On the Friday morning they'd run out of sausages for breakfast, again not a major problem for me. The one disappointment was the lack of variety of food on site - it was advertised as having a Subway etc, but all I got was cheese and tomato pizza as they weren't making anything else! The departure after the rain on Sunday night was awful, although credit to the staff (who in the main were kids) - they were doing their best to help push people out / get stuff resolved, and always with a smile on their face.

nice to meet you sfmanta

showers every time i went for mines there were roasting and loads of pressure

the mud on monday was madness, used the trusty honda and crawled in 1st gear up the hill and out the top road 1st time with no wheel spin

tried looking for you rich but didnt see you, couldnt have been that far away

was at the eddie jordan night, and he was pissed i'd say
and martin brundle seemed to answer the question honestly, should have spent a little longer speaking but thats my opinion

food wise pizza or burger and chips for 4 nights , let me guess not the the good variety but will do with the beer

we were on the camping F1 site near the main entrance, overall a good experience slightly marred by the late coach from the circuit Friday evening with the driver that got lost and the staff trying to change the coach departure time Sunday after it was full of hot and tired punters trying to get ferry connections. not good guys! Monday we were stuck but a small group of us mucked in together and pushed, tugged each other out. could not agree more about the idiot with the caravan. I hope he was stuck there for a good long time! felt sorry for the large American RV that wiped out his mirror on the post on the way out!
