What more does vettel have to do to proven to people on here he is a top driver worthy of his record.
The finger ruined him.

Be British, or be a WDC and get beaten by a British driver.

Vettel prefers to lead from the front. If outright speed is not his thing then this would be much harder. Instead he sticks the car on pole and gallops out of DRS reach in the first couple of laps and then controls the pace. He needs speed to do that, not least because there's at least one other driver on the grid with a car as fast as his.

We've seen him charge through the field before but it doesn't look like his preferred tactic, he seems to prefer to control from the front, as opposed to someone like Hamilton who doesn't seem too bothered where he is on the track, he still thinks he can win. Most of the time anyway.

I have heard similar things about Jim Clark too. That he preferred to win from the front and wasn't so comfortable coming through the pack, though he could do it when he needed to. Jackie Stewart was similar too I think. He once said he won most of his races in the first five laps.

Don't take this as me saying Vettel is up there with Clark and Stewart thoughsmile
However, with 4 championships under his belt I'm certain he is a more complete driver now than he ever has been. With that experience, he knows how to win better than most other drivers on the grid.

The 2010 and 2012 red bull car where far from the dominate team in both those years infact webber was ahead of vettel for most of 2010 until the end of the season when he clinched it at the last race and to the same extent 2012. Yes 2011 and 2013 they were dominate and he made full use of that. He didn't have it easy in them 4 years.
He still had the best/better car when RBR sorted out the rear downforce eg. 2010 blown exhaust, 2012 coanda exhaust to tunnelled floor concept; when the DF was lacking Vettel struggled more than Webber.

Seb needs to rack up some great wins and a team mate equal stature of greatness.

2010 & 2012 also leave a sour taste in that RBR hamstrung Webber in Brazil & Abu Dhabi in 2010, and Brazil 2012 was fascicle from start to finish, firstly he ended two other driver's races on lap 1 and escaped unpunished and then being waved through by a sizable proportion of the grid.

Do I feel I am watching the (statistically) 4th best F1 driver in history? Equal to Prost? Better than Senna, no not at all. Had Webber won the 2010 WDC and Vettel the other three then yes perhaps I'd rate him higher than now but for me the 2010 championship was just so downright underhand that I feel it taints the bleeding lot.

As for proving himself, if in the eyes of many he still hasn't, then he never will. If you were to make a DVD of the best 10 races of the last 145, how many races would Vettel be the star, if at all? It may be a crude metric but people rate entertainers higher than the efficient, hence Mansell having an enormous world wide fanbase etc.
Vettel's quali lap around Suzuka in 09 (I think?) was breath taking.

After that... you're looking at 88 minutes of Monty Python jokes.

Yeah, you might want to go and re-watch that.

First poor victimised Webber nearly squeezes him off the track, then he was caught from behind and spun around. To finish where he did with that damaged car was pretty impressive.

Properly fed up I will miss this one.
It is a pity but it seems Gaz has now been fed up for around five years and is now going to miss a race!

So you aren't contesting that he put two cars out of the race? Good, glad that was cleared up.
After getting punted around by someone else? And you want him penalised for that?
Good grief.
