I have a simple solution for the stuff that bores me or I dislike:

I don't do it.
Agreed. It's amazing how thick some people are especially as there has been a minimal rule changes since last year when I wrote this on 8th February 2014:

It's not defense, it is acceptance that the rules will not change for this season and they are not going to suddenly say "Stop! let's wheel out a 3.5 litre V10!" , so why piss and moan? It won't change the rules but it does drive people away from this forum. Voting with your feet or remote control will have far more effect and will ps off the right people.

Before Melbourne do the naysayers expect:

1. The V6T's to be scrapped?
2. More than 5 engines per season?
3. 100kg fuel allowance increased?
4. The noses to look like 2011 nose cones?
5. Bridgestone & Michelin to suddenly appear in the paddock with thousands of tyres?
6. The BBC to host all races live?
7. Imola, Brands Hatch, Mangy Cours, Laguna Seca & Bathurst to replace Sakir, Sepang, Shanghai, Yas Marina & Marina Bay?

No? No takers at all? Vote with your feet then.
Shame they didn't vote with their feet and continue to turn us to stone every other fortnight.
I agree with some of the above points, but how will voting with my feet or remote control change anything?
My feet were quite happy taking me to Silverstone many times a year to F1 testing and the GP event itself. There would be a good 12-15 days I'd go every year.
But testing was stopped, apart from the half-baked test we now have in the summer with some of the teams and drivers, and I have no desire to watch a car that sounds broken all day.
So my feet stay at home with my wallet.

Interestingly, given the importance of India as an 'emerging' market, we don't have an Indian GP again this year, despite India building a new track etc. They've voted with their feet it seems, after trying the 'product'. The sums don't add up.
And no German GP? You have Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi all from Germany. It seems that only Mercedes place any value in F1.
So 3 of these 4 massive manufacturers have also voted with their feet.

Based on the pattern above there does not seem to be any concern so far with the way people are turning off or being turned away from F1.
Whether we care to admit it or not, F1 is being seen as irrelevant, through ignorance, arrogance and greed.

Shame, but that is life. Rather like steam trains, F1 has had its day as we knew it. Even now it is more Gadget Show than sport. I have seen some great things over the years but for me the sport is doomed and almost finished.

For whatever reason, I've also lost interest in F1, it just doesn't excite me any more and I have little or no interest in the current crop of drivers or corporate manufacturer dominated teams. I didn't watch this week's race in full, just caught snippets throughout the day when it was repeated.

If you look at the financial prospects for F1 one thing leads to another, a significant number of long term fans are switching off because they've lost interest, there's been a move from free to air to pay per view, the traditional circuits are finding it increasingly difficult to justify the race costs with a dwindling number of paying spectators, hence sponsors are not willing to pay top dollar for less coverage. F1 is heading towards a manufacturer dominated 'sport' funded by their marketing departments and designed to help them sell cars, with races run in far flung states desperate for some kind of international exposure, or subsidised venues where the manufacturers particularly want to sell cars. Then you've got the CVC situation...
Can't argue with any of that.
The only thing I would argue is that motorsport is in thrall to manufacturers, the cache associated with having a name and romanticism from most fans - the latter I find sickening at times.

Maybe as it's only one race you cant count it, but how about 24 hour Le mans? I went in 2013 and going this year. Far superior to my trip to British F1 in 2014.

There is a good case for saying the LMP1 class of WEC including Le Mans is the pinnacle of motorsport at the moment, massively quick cars and engine durability which puts the current F1 cars to shame. And the technology is also pretty impressive for energy recovery.

Yet LMP1 makes use of Balance of Performance to stop anyone making a car that is too fast (so the competition isn't truly free), and has some pretty incomprehensible energy usage rules that frequently sees a car having to do a very slow lap to bring its 3 lap average energy use down.
